WOW! 10 commits thus far. Terry can play C or OT. Likely replaces Weber, though 6'6 is huge for a C

Pretty confident it will be ACU, based on Lakendrick Jones' response to him

A JUCO site said LB Kier has committed to us, but I am not seeing that as official yet Kier's page mentions that he received a D1 offer from us. That's all we have at this point, I think. Looks like an explosive tackler though. Very instinctive, and he's received good playing experience at Butler CC.

Not gonna lie; I'm pretty surprise Johnson picked ODU. I definitely think this team will actively look for a safety. Another player they offered, Koby Perry is making his decision today as well. I think for him, it will come down to Hawaii or Troy University

Fair enough... the tackling in that video isn't great. And most any high school back could take the ball and score given some of the downfield blocking that he's getting... That said, I think this kid (Charlie Spegal) has elite balance, and a fantastic, low-center of gravity. Over and over again, people bounce off like he's a cube. If you haven't watched, it's pretty entertaining to see him break a tackle and then carry five guys with second effort into the end zone. So Charlie's doesn't have FBS speed for a running back (he's a FB at that level... and would be a good one if Tom Osborne was coaching). But that kind of play has been out of style for quite a while (except at North Dakota State, who would love to have him). I think any average Texas high school football kid would have their hands full tacking Charlie one on one. But the experienced TX HS football coaches always seem to be able to throw out a net and stop a team that has one exceptional back or receiver. I'd root for him though and wouldn't ever count him out. I suspect the offers will roll in.

I would think a kid like Charlie would be a good athlete no matter what position he played. I agree, market yourself, stay in really good condition and the offers will come.
