Scooter, I asked the same question yesterday. Scout247 says there are a passel of D1 schools interested in him (14) including ACU but no offers reported or a commitment. He just took the SAT. This late in the year it is probably a retake in an attempt to qualify for D1. Jarek Black signed with WTAMU. I guess he didn't qualify for a D1 school or was willing to go to a D2 school to stay near home.

OK. I asked this a while back and didn't get an answer. Maybe Cat_A_holic can find out. Are the two JC transfers on campus yet and when will McDuffie get there? I just emailed Grant Boone and requested that he ask this question of Coach C on the Signing Show tonight.

McDuffie is here, I have talked to him on campus 2 times. Nice kid - very slender. I know the offensive lineman is here and I think that the defensive lineman is as well, but not absolutely sure on him.

Coach Thrash mentioned 27 new guys in a tweet. Are we missing a player or is he counting a transfer but not all transfers or can he not add (the excitement got to him).

Observations: Several of the players that Collums talked about on the defensive line are much larger than we first heard. Meadows at 275 not 255, E. Ngungutau at 310 not 283, Allen at 300 not 270 and there may have been others. 2nd, I had to leave before he talked about the offensive recruits (and can't find the show on the website yet) so I don't know what he said about the 2 QB's and others. Were there any significant things said? What are the chances of Sealey playing football and not signing a baseball contract? etc.

Coach mentioned that he wasn't sharing with the basketball program but he didn't mention baseball and Sealey. Which makes me wonder if that is still a possibility he simply didn't want to entertain out loud. Here's hoping. Again, have I just drunk the koolaid, or does Sealey's video remind you of Johnny football the way he scrambles and dashes around coming out of the pocket.

It is going to be quite the battle at QB. I have to say as much as I like Sealey's scrambling ability, Ennis can dazzle with his legs as well. For a kid that big that looks like such a prototypical pocket passer, he can lower his head and move in the open field pretty well.

I did find the show and listened to his comments. Again, lots more weight on the big guys than was on many of their recruiting videos. We got some big guys. Did we fill our need at Wide receiver? McDuffey and Gilbert give us two big time receivers. We have a very competent TE receiver in Walker and 2 others in Cheshire and Parker. I don't think Lide or Ellis will play this year but I could be surprised. Monte-Green Avery returns as does Cade Stone and Jace Hudson. Demarcus Thompson will be back and last years RS's Dakota Duron and a host of names I don't know. At RB Herschel Sims can catch out of the backfield. Gober, Brown, and Adrian Duncan are all unknowns and returning from injury. This is where we may be short next year. Even Collums spoke to that possibility about having to go after a RB if need be (I read that as, if no one comes to the front in the spring). Everywhere else we have choices; several quality players playing for starting spots.

Don't forget Munden and Weathers in the QB battle and both the guys that dressed out last year--Ruben and McKenzie. All have good size except McKenzie. Yes, it will be quite a battle.

Of course of course. I DON'T EXPECT one of the freshman to win the battle this fall but it MIGHT happen, but it's just a tough thing to do when other guys already know the offense so well. If I had to guess, without knowing too much about the qb's currently on the roster as far as their development, it will be Munden coming out of this Spring. I just haven't seen much out of Ruben with him being the veteran. And out of the unknowns, I like what I had seen out of Munden the most.

For what it's worth.....Josh came into fall camp at 287. He was listed at 290. Actual gametime weight? 307 to 310.

I am sure there will be more discussion on this topic as spring practice approaches but I will add that my hope is that at the end of spring there is a clear pecking order among the four QB's. Going into fall with 6 scholarship qb's competing for the starting job in a limited period of time is a no win situation. How do you give 6 guys equal numbers of snaps with the first team and expect to establish any kind of cohesion among the unit as a whole? If he number is reduced to two coming out of spring, the others can use fall to try to catch on at another position or content themselves with a back up role. If I had to guess, I would say our two red shirt freshmen will emerge in the spring and battle it out with the two true freshmen in the fall. I hope both freshmen plan to report early and use the summer to study our play book and work out with our receivers. That will give them more of a shot come fall.

So if anyone has the inside scoop of the Ngungutau Twins from Euless I would like to know what their scholarship situation is like.
I'm assuming they do not count towards scholarship for the next two years, which would mean they will really be apart of the 2016 class.
I wonder if that leaves more room for possible transfers?

I don't know how the Ngungutau twins count toward the numbers. In terms of possible transfers, we should have some room regardless of how the big twins count. We signed 29, 3 of whom were mid-year transfers who can count against last year's numbers. So, in effect we signed 26 guys out of a max of 30 for this year. This should leave room for 4 transfers provided our total number on scholarship does not exceed 85. We could also pick up a player or two who did not sign on Wednesday. We lost a DT at the last minute and might find one out there. We did not sign a RB and could pick up one. One I noticed was Robert Johnson, an all state running back from Lubbock Estacado. If he signed anywhere I have not found it.
