Over-all, not a bad start to the season and a great way to start conference play: 8-6/1-0. still above .500. Keep it up guys.

Just a late congrats to the guys for winning Sunday's game against NSU. They won 2 out of the 3 game series. A good beginning to conference play. Keep it up.

Still a lot better than we did against NSU last year. I was shocked to see the 24-11 score. What direction was that wind blowing Saturday again?

It wasn't the wind. It was gawd-awful pitching.

Looks like we have 2 starters who can compete, Chirpich and Nicholson. Now we need one more to show up. Couple of good results from the bullpen in Lewis and Spaeth.

We hung with Baylor for 5+ innings. Baylor having a big 6th. 3 runs in and a man on 2nd.

Lost in the excitement of our basketball tourney wins, our baseball Cats lost a doubleheader to Corpus Sunday afternoon. We lost 7-3 in the 1st game (tied 3-3 in 6th) and then lost 6-5 in the 2nd game. We scored 3 runs in the 9th in it. Losing pitchers were Spaeth in relief in the 1st game and Barger, the starter in the 2nd.

Cats lose in 14 to UIW. Opportunity to win in 12th when Trevino tripled with 1 out. But pinch runners took Trevino and Claborn out of lineup for later and we didn't score. Our lineup was gutted for going longer.

I guess I'm the only poster who cares about baseball, so I'll keep posting to myself. We took the series from UIW 2-1. Should have won all three but took a hard loss in game #1 in the 14th inning. Three starters who pitched credible games, Chirpich, Barger, and Nicholson. Trevino is a hitting stud. Currently at .427 with 10 Hrs and 37 RBI's. Too bad we lose so many seniors but McCarty is playing lots of players and I think seeing who can play next year. The pitching staff is night and day different in results from the 1st of the year and we have lots of hitters who really battle at the plate (quite a few with averages at or over .300). We may be competitive for the rest of the year but even if not, I think we may be turning a huge corner with this program.

Nah, I read all the posts about baseball and care about it hugely. But, too lazy to post! Trevino is going to get drafted at this rate.

I did notice that we have now won 5 conference games equaling last year and there are still 18 games to go. So we are trending in the right direction.
