Not sure where this should be but interested in the process for getting McCrary that extra year. When might we hear if that will be awarded? Since he has another year without the waiver, might the NCAA wait until next year to make a decision or is there a time limit? Sure would be nice to know that we had Billy for 2 more years. He was a difference maker this year and a player teams had to prepare for. Would help us be more diverse in the coming years.

All I know is that the NCAA has granted some retroactive red shirts. Hoping his situation falls into that category.

I'm hoping that our strength and conditioning team have Billy on a regimen that will work on the areas where he seems to get dinged. Can ankles be strengthened? Seems to get winded after 60-70 yard runs . We really need to keep Billy healthy for next year. Our offense took a hit in the last two games with him hobbled and then out.

I don't know how Billy ended up at ACU but I'm sure glad he did!

Billy wanted to play closer to home after falling between the cracks at Cal. He was injured / had surgery in between the departure of one coaching staff and the arrival of a new one, which had no idea who he was or what he was capable of doing.

I remember Billy as a recruit out of Round Rock and how he had incredible combine numbers at the Nike Sparq event. Was a QB in high school I think. I'm pretty certain we offered him then, either way it's good to have him here now.

Billy is a perfect fit for ACU -- as a person and as a football player. Even is he does not get his waiver from the NCAA for another season, ACU will have him for one more year and it should be a banner year for ACU!

While Billy is the poster boy for the kind of FB players that we want here, he is not unique. Dante Hibbert and Jamaal Mack come to mind. Great on the field, great in the classroom, and great at sending the message of ACU. I talk with DJ now and then and he always expresses how thankful he is for ACU. I can go on and on but I think we are fostering a generation of athletes who will be Wildcats till they die. So thanks Billy for your leadership - and all the rest of you.
