Bryan HS RB/CB Christian Richardson has signed. He's listed at 5'10 195. He looks like he will be a solid contributor. I wonder if he knows Stapp...

TE Noah Caldwell announced. He is from Electra HS and is listed at 6'5 230 Looks like Caldwell got a lot of big boy looks early but apparently missed much or all of junior year with injury and fell off a bunch of recruiting lists. This looks a lot like a steal.

Trying to get my arms around the names that are in already:
-Early signing press release had 17 names on it -- 8 transfers and 9 high schoolers. All 8 transfers are attending ACU this semester.
-The mid-term haul of scholarship athletes appears to be 4 -- OL Truet Knox, DL Jordan Paup, WR Dax Neece, and QB Peyton Mansell. All 4 are attending ACU his semester.
-As of right this moment, there are 12 HS signees being announced today: S Kam Stokes (announced as a previous signee) - Arlington Grace Prep; WR Easton Myrick - Boerne Geneva School; TE Trace Price - Stamford; OL Sean McKenney - San Antonio Harlan; DE Dennis Herrold - FW Christian; S Maximus Gayden - Spring Legacy School of Sport Science; TE Noah Caldwell - Electra; CB Jonah Harrison - Pantego Christian; DL Cameron Byrom - Valley View; WR Cooper McCasland - Birdville; OL Seth Bower - Boerne Geneva School; DL Austin Lozano - Hamlin.
I like that we are bringing in transfers at midterm -- they can go through spring ball. I don't remember off-hand any transfer who came in the fall and immediately contributed (there have been a few high schoolers do it).
I agree with the comment that some of these signees today (particularly the kids from private schools) are quite possibly partial scholarship kids. Let's say that a kid is getting a quarter-scholarship on an academic scholarship, football adds a quarter-scholarship and the difference is about what a kid is paying to go to a place like the Geneva School in Boerne.
The downside is that the NCAA maximum of players on scholarship on the roster is 85 -- whether they are full or partial. There is not a lot of room for a huge number of partials.

Also tells me we have some guys that have left the program. To my knowledge, we only had 30 spots. We have 33 players that have signed and are still waiting on Tharp and Fargason, as well as DB Bullock and possibly TE Carr. I also know they are after 1 more dropdown WR. He would also be a return specialist.

Quick look at bios reminds me of #nextstep - I see multi-sport athletes, high academic achievers, and team leaders among the class. In other words, "Dorrel-style guys".

Random thoughts on signing day:
Big Lozano is intriguing. He might be something special.
Bryon Broussard signed with Tarleton.
Jett Duffey, Tech QB in the portal, was denied admission to Central Michigan.

DL Austin Lozano from Hamlin announced I worry about his motor. Edit: Although, if he can focus on only one position, and only 20-40 snaps a game, maybe he will play at 100% the whole time. I just saw him take some plays off in the biggest game of his life...and I think it cost Hamlin a state championship.

Sometimes it takes a negative experience to wake a kid up. His HUDL film shows he can make an impact. I'd think that if he is coachable we'll be able to get his best. I think I saw that he has a 4.89 40. That seems big time for a 290 pounder. Maybe that's not accurate but he did run the ball a little. I think he can be a diamond in this class full of potential.
