Good game WACmates. It was ours to win, but y’all did what you had to do. Nice to have Kohl under the basket like that. We’ll do our best to knock off Sam to get you a top seed. See you next year. You all gave us everything and more tonight!!

Sorry, other sources show Nichols and Sam have 13 wins while the Southland page shows only 12. If either Sam or Nichols wins we go to the 2nd or 3rd seed. Or maybe I'm confused.

We will be rooting hard for you guys! I am excited about next year having us, you guys, SHSU, NMSU, and maybe GCU all battling at the top of the WAC. Hopefully we can get it to a 2 bid league.

Just looked at the Southland standings and it appears to me that if Sam loses to SFA and we win our game then we get the #1 seed (like the previous post said). That would be huge. Nicholls has to lose tomorrow night at McNeese, SFA needs to beat Sam Saturday and we need to beat UIW. #Pathto#1

This point system based off number of wins hurts us because of our canceled game vs SELA two weeks back from the cold storm. Nicholls doesn’t play us or SFA and can claim a regular season title and #1 seed with a win and a Sam loss.

Really tough game. Both teams battled hard. Was a pleasure being there and hearing crickets at the buzzer! Let’s go McNeese and Ax’em Jacks!

DId you hang around long enough to see the incident at the end of the game. SFA fans are upset that one of their fans let loose on Moe Golding as he was leaving the court. They were hoping he was identified and loses his SFA athletic privileges,

I thought I hung around long enough to see them walk completely off the court. I did not notice any incidents, but I was on the other end from the exit.

I am rooting big time for the Jacks against Sam but I wish they would not seemingly always blame the refs for any loss. I have not been impressed with Southland officials but thought maybe it is partly due to the way the modern game has changed. Kohl has lost the ball under the basket several time but his arms are typically hammered. I just tend to think bad calls happen and give refs the benefit of the doubt when it looks clear to me they have blown the call. I don't understand the modern press when a player is sandwiched and gets arms pinned or hit yet a jump ball is called. And, I often think they don't really review the protected circle under the basket on calls. I have often though Simmons size must influence officials to call blocking fouls on him that they would not call on others--or would call charging.
The SFA board is full of "blaming the Refs" for things, and it seems that was the case in Abilene and at their place. I will say I admired the complimentary things their coach said about the Cats, but he also thought the refs threw the Jacks out of their rhythm, causing their loss of momentum before half time. I prefer we don't go down that road even when it is clear blown calls hurt our men and women's teams. There is nothing that can be done about bad calls but it can ruin your game flow if that is what players are thinking about. For the record, I am complimentary about the Jacks and think they play a fast and very tough game. Glad they are part of the new WAC.

We had 30 fouls called against us to their 21. Thirty.

One of their beefs, as I understand it, was the official who called the game in Abilene and called the tech then was the same official who called the tech in Nac last night.
Honestly, these teams are so quick and fast with hands and arms flailing everywhere, I will easily give the official’s the benefit of the doubt. I do think they need to “let them play” more, however.
