Massey has ACU as a 5.5 point favorite to win this game. We are ranked #62 while Tarleton St is rated #69 of the FCS schools. Tarleton St is rated closest to ACU as any other teams on our schedule. Hoping for a big home field advantage.

‘Yeah but are you watching or up in the club eating banana pudding? I can't say that I don't grab a snack or two I do stay throughout the game though. I think the earliest I have left is with about 3 minutes left to play. I also used to drive all over the place (state to state) when we were DII to watch the games. Have done the same multiple times in DI as well, grabbing hotels to sleep in. Except for the SMU game, this is the first year that I haven't driven to the away games.

This game will be a test to me of how much fight we have left. If we lay an egg at home against a team at our level then that will be a huge red flag. We need to start off fast and not let our foot off of the gas.

Like practice needs to transition to the game, chatter on this board needs to translate to fans in the stands. Tarleton will show up, so this needs to be ACU’s best crowd of the season. Go Wildcats!! I am there every game. Thanks, wherever you are! #NoJudging

It would be great if everyone would stand and clap to the fight song or make noise on 3rd down.... When the football team has to do their own cheers and are louder than the 8-10k in the stands, it's not a good.
Any business want to provide noise makers? The bells were great. Loudest the stands have been all year! Great way to get all fans involved.

Football -- I stand and clap to the fight song (and sing the school song) and stand up and make some noise on 3rd down. And, I have done so for 50 years.
The NIL piece is interesting and I think Zach Lassiter may well be able to help totally in that regard. BUT, remember that ACU is a not-for-profit entity and if a donor wanted to give $500,000 to the athletic program to support coaches salary OR give to a NIL fund, ACU will probably ask for the direct gift to the program. The challenge will be finding donor/fans who might do both.
ACU has a chance of winning this one -- I predict 24-21 in favor of the Wildcats. But, I don't think the newbies on the board realizes how intensely Tarleton hates ACU -- I have seen many a game where ACU had decidedly better talent and Tarleton make the game much closer than expected or won outright.

I sing as well - gee, I wish it were possible to still do it a cappella. Not enough students and the singing ability of today’s students - well, let’s just say that times have changed.

Oh, how I wish we still sang the school song a cappella. And, that is coming from a former Big Purple member as well. I also remember when a member of the football team (beginning with Greg Stirman) came over after each home game and led the Bug Purple in at least one song -- I think it was March Grandioso at the time. That was always cool.

That was always cool. I was a member of the Big Purple 78-80. I would certainly join you in preferring a capella as well. The current version with the band seems rather (for lack of a better word) cartoonish to me. (I’m sure that makes no sense to anyone. Lol.) You’re right as well on a member of the band coming over and conducting Grandioso. I’ve visited with the current director about some of the old traditions and I find him most interested. Finally, I believe that Dr. Traylor has the late 70’s videos of the BP when it was indeed big. I know we marched over 300 in my day. Would love to put those on disc.

Getting ready for one of the biggest games of the season. Can we beat a team that is rated very similarly to us.

Big test. Is the team still fighting or have they given up on the season? We'll find out today.
