I thought someone had posted somewhere that we led the fcs in number of transfers but maybe I’m wrong. I know we had a number transfer to FBS schools and that was posted somewhere too. It may not be 40, but it’s safely over 20. Factor in graduating players and walk ons quitting or leaving and I imagine we have well more than 40 players gone from last years team.

We are exactly where we deserve to be -- totally off the radar. This team is a question mark. My gut says that we will be better this year, but if I were a betting man, I certainly would not put money on ACU to even break .500 this year -- simply too little data to go on. Plus, my gut has consistently been off the mark for the last 5 or more years. I blame that on the removal of 14 inches of my gut by surgery just over 5 years ago -- apparently it was the more discerning portion of my gut. Someone may say that it's not that we're "off the radar". That would imply that analysts putting these polls together just don't have the info to include in the top 25. More likely it's that the analysts know what we have and have placed us far down the list based on knowing our team. Of course I would never say that because this board would label me as snarky and a troll. Some good books that helped me over the last year were: “The Happiness Project” by Gretchen Rubin “A Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl “What Happened to You?” by Bruce D Perry and Oprah Winfrey That’s a good start. I have more. I can also recommend a couple of good therapists.

So we have had 41 players hit the transfer portal. That is not the most, but I think the 2nd most according to 247sports. Out of those 41, not all were on scholarship, but the majority were.
We should NOT be ranked right now. In my opinion, on paper, we are better than last year. But how good are we, time will tell.
I think Sam Houston, SFA and UIW all SHOULD be ranked. Yes, all 3 teams have lost some really good players, but they are deep and still have a good amount of talent returning.
Honestly, I wish these polls didn't come out until October. Every team in America hopes to be good. But by October, we typically know the teams that likely will make the FCS playoffs

These are the teams that regularly go deep into the playoffs, return most of their players from the previous year and recruit well. I mea, it’s not all that hard to place NDSU at or near the top each year. 15-25 is a whole different ball game. Campbell or Mercer? South Dakota or Richmond? Does San Diego belong here? Holy Cross? Maybe McNeese? It’s mostly a coin toss this early.

Does anyone have a list of the players that left and where they ended up? Excluding graduates of course.

I noticed on a 247 portal article that we have signed more FBS to FCS players than any other team except for Alabama A&M. The article had everyone up to Patrick Jolly.
