I heard that they were both coming back as well as Manny Allen and Arion. We could be pretty good next year …. but the jury is still out.

Just saw that the 2023-2024 basketball roster is up. Igiehon is not on it (yet?). Neither is Gai. Only 12 listed, so when we add Igiehon we'll still have 2 spots (by my count).

Troubling, but I was glad to see Manny is coming back as are others. We should be pretty stout all the way around the 3 point line, but inside the circle we need a big time scorer and defensive talent. It will be really interesting to see what Dibba and Bettiol have matured into with another year in the system under their belt. I wish Bettiol could grow another inch or more, that would be great.

Men’s basketball only allows for 13 scholarships

So are you implying we do not have a roster spot for him because people came back we didn’t know would?

No we have 12 guys on the roster. Assuming Ighieon is in that is 13 and we are set

Is Tanner's son a basketball scholarship or a family related scholarship? Or do faculty families still get scholarships?

Tanner is a walk-on, so we have 2 roster spots open. However, Ighieon would make the 12th scholarship player which would leave them with 1 open spot

Tarleton just got another 6'9" guy who averages double figures scoring. I hope our last two spots are tall and talented but that is obvious.

His name is Blake Brinkmeyer and he played at Kingwood JUCO. Yes he is 6'9, but he did not play last year. Also, just because a player averaged double figures in JUCO does not mean he will be great at the D1 level. SFA got a player into their program that averaged over 27 points a game at the JUCO level in 2021-2022. He did not average double figures last year for them.

Don't know why Brinkmeyer didn't play last year but the young man has game. Could be injury prone, but if he is able to get minutes, he will certainly score and get rebounds. He is agile around the bucket with great basket awareness and has a very good outside shot (50% from 3-point range). A very good pickup for Tarleton, methinks. He played at Kirkwood JC, not Kingwood, a division 2 JUCO in the mid-west.

Saw that Jaren Lewis was voted 1st team all-FIBA this year. We need a 6'7" wing that has game inside and out like Jaren did. Maybe Franklin's Little Rock ties will bring one to us.

The current basketball roster on ACU Sports lists no player taller than 6'8". Do we really not have a center? Hill is listed as 6'8".
