From a UND fan, "PSA: Friends and family 4 pack of tickets for this game only $20!" Sounds like a pretty good idea. Worth noting that they are trying to drive up attendance for the game as a ton of UND fans will be in Las Vegas where the Men's Hockey team is playing Arizona St. Lots of fun pictures coming out on twitter as UND fans flood the strip. www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/see-where-fans-are-traveling-from-to-attend-unds-hockey-game-in-las-vegasIf you're not familiar with UND Hockey, they are a dominant program with 8 National Titles and pump out lots of NHL players. Google Ralph Engelstad Arena if you want to see the best college hockey facilities in the country. Not as big as an NHL arena, but nicer than many. Also putting the UND Sports Fan Forum link here in case anyone wants to check it out and come chat it up. siouxsports.com/

With all those fans off in Vegas, home field advantage might not be worth quite as much as usual.

Ha, the user name has been with me for quite a while I think there will be a fair amount traveling from Grand Forks, but a ton traveling from elsewhere in the country. Should still get a decent showing at the Alerus, but certainly not what we had last weekend.

I think it's a GREAT idea. Thanks for the links. Not much hockey in Texas. I grew up in the Phoenix area though so saw some there. I know you guys are playing ASU in Vegas that day. Good luck to ya!

Hi All, UND fan here and wanted to pop in to say hi and chat about the game a bit. If anyone is looking to get a little more insight on the game or just listen to some football chat I'll drop a link to the UNDFootball360 podcast, which includes an interview with ACU radio guy Grant Boone. undfootball360.com/undfb360-pregame-show-week-8-und-vs-abilene-christian/Coming off a tough loss at home to the SDSU Bunnies in a game where we didn't play up to our potential but were still in it. Credit to the rabbits, they are a good team. Worth calling out that our of the last like (apx) 12 ranked teams to visit the Alerus, only 2 have won. NDSU last year by by 6 and SDSU this year by 14. It is a tough place to play and UND does typically play well at home. That being said, we are coming off of an emotional loss and you guys are coming off of a bye. I'm not sure what to think yet. UND is a team at this point that could make a run and hit the playoffs hot or completely derail and miss the playoffs completely. Looking at the bulk of the play I've seen this year, I think we make the playoffs at 7-4, but certainly not a guarantee. QB play has been really strong. Tommy Schuster has been accurate all season, with the exception being the INTs last week. Watch for Quincy Vaughn to come in on 4th and short plays as he is like 6'4 and around 230. RBs have been solid. Tyler Hoosman is the guy to watch. Grad Transfer from UNI has been a great addition for the season. WRs are good but lack overall speed. Watch for Bo Belquist and Garret Maag. Secondary has been suspect in areas and seems to give the WRs cushion. CJ Seigel is the top CB, there is a bit of a fall off after that. Our FG kicking can get it done but isn't dominant. Not going to see many attempts over 40, especially if it is a short yardage situation. ST does have a few blocked punts this year ... i believe 2 were for TDs. Hoping everyone can watch the game on ESPN+, I like the production our guys put together. Thanks for the link to the podcast. Very enjoyable to listen to. It is obvious that UND has a loyal following and is consistently one of the better teams in FCS. I think the guys nailed it when they said that the ACU offense really doesn't have a consistent personality. I think our new OC is discovering there is a big difference between being able to easily out athlete other teams at the D3 level and what works at the D1 level. Definitely still a work in progress. I hope we show up and make a good game of it.

I get that the strength of schedule may not be as high as some, but you play who is on your schedule and they have done a good job so far. Obviously I'm hoping for a convincing UND win this weekend, but I hope you guys roll your next three weeks. Put a pounding on Tarleton and SHSU and get a much deserved revenge win on SFA. We should both be rolling into the playoffs on high notes!

We should both be rolling into the playoffs on high notes! I think if we have an offensive personality it’s take what the defense gives you. If you look at our stats we are very balanced between yards on the ground and through the air.and against y’all the best match up is likely to be our receivers against your secondary, using our rb to neutralize your blitzes. Execution us a whole ‘ other thing, but that seems likely to be the plan.

Looking at the game notes, the Fighting Hawks don't have great size upfront in their 3-4 defensive scheme. My guess is they're quite active though, starting 4 LBs in the 220 to 230 range. If the Cat's passing game can generate a few early first downs, they should have opportunities to move the ball on the ground and avoid negative plays. They have to settle into the game and not just collapse under the pressure of the moment.
The Cat's defense will have its hands full trying to contain the North Dakota passing game. Should be a great experience.
10.5 is a rather large spread, but I might take that bet. It would help if we are more healthy.

A little comparison for tomorrow's game.
UND is 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The Fighting Hawks are coming off a 49-35 loss at home to No. 1 South Dakota State. They are averaging 29.71 points per game and allowing 33.29. They average 124.9 yards on the ground and 246.29 yards through the air for 371.1 yards of total offense per outing. Tyler Hoosman leads the team with 91 carries for 517 yards and eight touchdowns. He averages 5.7 yards per carry and 73.86 yards per game. Isaiah Smith is second with 41 carries for 250 yards and two touchdowns. He averages 6.1 and 35.71, respectively. Tommy Schuster is 154-224 with four INTs and nine TDs. He has thrown for 1,716 yards (245.14 per game). Bo Belquist is first on the team with 40 receptions for 478 yards (11.95 per catch) with three touchdowns and 68.29 yards per game. Garett Maag is second with 23 catches for 330 yards (14.35) and two scores. The QBs have been sacked 19 tiems for -147 yards, and the team has been tackled behind the line 38 times for -209 yards. They have turned the ball over four times through INTs and five forced fumbles (two recovered by opponents).
The defense is allowing 146.0 yards rushing and 275 yards passing for 421 yards per game. Kadon Kauppinen leads the team with 43 tackles (18 solo). Ben McNaboe leads the team with nine tackles for a loss of -42 yards, including 4.5 sacks for -34 yards. The Fighting Hawk defense has 30 tackles for a loss of -144 yards, including 12 sacks for -105 yards. They have also forced three fumbles and had three INTs.
UND's kicker (Brady Stevens) is 6-9 with a long of 42 and one block. He averaged 60.6 yards on kickoffs with one out of bounds and 15 touchbacks.
The Wildcats are 5-2 overall and 2-0 in WAC play after defeating Southern Utah two weeks ago. Coming off the bye, the Wildcats are scoring 26.43 points per game, allowing 19.57. ACU is averaging 170 yards on the ground and 230.43 in the air for a total of 400.4 per game. Dobbins leads the team with 130 carries for 639 yards and seven TDs. He averages 4.9 per touch and 91.29 per game. Banks, Jr. is second with 77 touches for 307 yards (4.0 per carry) and three touchdowns. He averages 51.17 per game. McIvor leads the team in passing with 109-192-5 for 1,270 yards and eight scores, averaging 181.43 per game. Long is second with 30-57-0 for 343 yards and two TDs (114.33 per game). Clark leads the squad in catches with 37 for 385 yards (10.41 per touch) and four touchdowns (55.0 yards per game). Golightly is second with 20-357 and a score (17.85, 51.0) and Catalon is third with 18-224 and one TD (12.44, 32.0). The Wildcats have been tackled behind the line 57 times for minus-204 yards, including 18 sacks for -124 yards.
The defense is allowing 109.0 yards rushing and 221 yards passing for a total of 330 yards per game. The freshman Young leads the team with 34 tackles while Bradley is second with 30 and Hargrove is third with 27. Morgan leads the team with nine tackles for a loss of 20 yards. Hargrove has the most sacks with three for 20 yards lost. ACU has intercepted five passes and recorded 48 tackles for a loss of -159 yards, including 13 sacks for -74 yards. The Wildcats have forced three fumbles, and recovered them all while opponents have forced five and recovered three.
UND has a neat facility and it is a tough place to play. The Fighting Hawks have played three Top-25 teams in the dome this year and sent two home with losses. I would LOVE to see a Wildcat victory tomorrow, though I know it will be a hard-fought game no matter the outcome. I hope we start fast and keep it up. If we can hold their passing game down and not give up big plays, I like our chances as long as our offensive line can withstand the pressure. I'll take ACU, 34-31!
Let's go 'Cats!

Young has been a beast on D as a true freshman. I hope some larger program doesn't snatch him up next year.
