What is he supposed to do when he is running full speed down field and the returners head goes from 6 ft off the ground to 3 ft off the ground in 1/4 of a second? It wasn't helmet to helmet contact. Hard for me to see from the video board if helmet to helmet contact happened but I heard from those watching the broadcast that helmets didn’t touch. I haven’t been that upset at a call in a long time. It was the turning point in the game. That call flipped the field for the first time and it took one of our best DBs off the field. It showed in the 2nd half.

It showed in the 2nd half. I know that technically, it doesn't have to be helmet to helmet contact, or led with the crown of the helmet, to be considered targeting. They key is forceful above the shoulders contact to a defenseless player When they showed it several times in slow motion on the big board, you could see our player turn his head. Meaning, he wasn't trying to hit a defenseless player forcefully. I agree that this kid, dropping his stance at the last second, forced WHERE he was hit. That shouldn't be on us. Combine that with the fact it was clearly not intentional and it doesn't really even fit the technical definition. It was indeed a turning point, but I feel our OCs still could have, and should have made better adjustments in the game. By the time they did, it was too late. If we were going to prove ourselves, we failed. Next up is UCA, and as Cap stated...this really becomes a must win game scenario.

I knew instantly it was targeting. From what I saw, he threw his elbow/arm at the returners head. Outsider, you are correct, he did turn his head, but his arm is what caught the helmet. I was shocked there was no flag, but when the delay for the next play happened, I knew they would be looking at targeting and that Egbo would be ejected.
Because this happened in the 1st half, does he have to sit out any of the next game?
