We can’t stop a good FCS offense nor a bad FBS one. Tackling is very poor. I feel bad for Stone, but he was never built for Morris' offense. Rogers seems to be a better leader and definitely in better command of the offense. They have weapons all over the field. They will continue to score.

I like that ACU did not quit in the 2nd quarter. Maverick is throwing better on this last drive than I think I have seen him any other time this season. Can we get the ball back for one last drive?

I hope that our performance in the last 3 quarters will give us some momentum going into the last half of the season. Offense played well, I thought but need some improvement on defense.

It worked!!! I switched back to watch the end of ACU/North Texas football game, and the Rangers make the playoffs. Now I want us to improve so I can attend and watch our football games and win them.

I had no cell service at the game so I’m playing catch up on here. I sense a ton of negativity. I won’t let our guys off the hook for their performance in Conway but walking into an FBS atmosphere is a different ballgame. A win tonight would have been the best win in at least a decade. I saw mistakes on both sides of the ball but I thought our guys played a pretty good ball game and they made it clear they were there to walk away with a win. Again, not perfect. But I feel like they can walk away from that game with their heads held high.

There is one positive from last night's game. UNT fans are complaining about their defense giving up 31 points to the ACU Offense. If the Wildcats can work on their tackling and the coaches work on better playcalling, they will have a good second half of the season.

The good: The kicking of Kyle Ramsey The running of Sunday The run blocking of our OL The pass blocking of our OL The receiving of Blayne Taylor The emergence of Colt Cooper at DE The short passing game of Maverick The offensive play calling in the 2nd half The overall play of our LB's The play of Jameer Dudley #19 in the 2nd half
The bad: Our pass defense Our long passing The effort and focus of several wide receivers
The ugly: Our tackling Defensive play calling (scheme?)

Bogey has a very good analysis above. I would add a couple of things. One is why our passing game is so overloaded with short flats? And why are we so undisciplined that we incur so many penalties? Less we forget, UNT is not a strong team. I thought we played a better game against Missouri last year. It is going to be tough now since we can only lose one more game (i.e., think: Texas A&M) to match last year's 7 and 4. Admittedly, the schedule is tougher this year, but 8 and 3 was a hope.
Checking the North Texas football forum and they were not happy. Apparently, the mood is they might win two games this year.
Most will remember our Jared Mosley, who was hired by North Texas to head up their athletics program. I like to see our ex's serving in important roles.

Jermiah had one carry for 7-8 yards or so on our first possession. Suffered a sprained ankle. They retaped it but he never came back into the game. After the game he said that it was still painful but that he would be good to go for the next game, with us having the bye week.
