Lack of coordinater coaching was pretty evident. Two undisciplined motion penalties killed our momentum and then we just rolled over and died. The late play calling was very questionable. The DC needs to think about his tasks. McIvor played one of his better games, IMO, but to no avail. I hope we develop some discipline after this unnecessary lose.

Glad I was busy today and didn't have a chance to watch the game. Sounds depressing.

Tackling, tackling, tackling. We have very little in the way of tackling. It’s a HUGE problem no matter how the rest of the team plays. In the last quarter, every time the Tarleton QB handed off the ball, their offensive line had pushed our defensive line back 3 yards. Sad.

Didn't get to watch this game. I'm disappointed in the result. We have some deficiences that we can't overcome. I see where Michigan did not throw a single pass in the 2nd half vs Penn State. When we took the 16 pt lead in the 4th qtr, our priority should have been "running out the clock." You do that by running a defense that stops the run and keeps passes in front of you. On offense you do not pass the ball. We don't seem to have coaches that understand the most basic of strategies. It's a shame that we lost this game but not really surprising.

Not looking forward to the A&M bloodbath next week. When I bought my ticket earlier in the year I thought we might at least be able to put up a good fight. I don't have a lot of hope for that now.

I have two tickets to the A&M game and have zero interest in either going or watching.

We moan about low attendance at our home games and students leaving at half time, but you have to look at our performance this year. Games like SUU, albeit at their place, and Tarleton, and even Central Arkansas are such disappointments that there is a lack of enthusiasm for the team. The same problem happens at Universities in general. Unless the team performs well, attendance suffers. This is likely the best collection of athletes we have had in recent years but the excitement of game day is just not there. It looks like the students are more involved with the social club tents than the game. I surely hope next year is different and game day is something we all get excited about. The I-20 shootout against Tarleton was weak with only 6,545 in attendance in our beautiful stadium. Good thing so many Tarleton folks showed up. They even had a pregame party over at Allen Ridge in the Bisquit Bar. They came expecting to beat us. Comments from our fans seemed to think we would lose.

Before we all jump off a cliff like a bunch of purple and white lemmings, recall that in the 10 years prior to KP we averaged just under 4 wins a year. Rome wasn’t built in a day ….

The problem is those teams didn’t have this teams talent. The biggest takeaways for me…
Our OL was supposed to be great, it hasn’t. Our OL coach is also our OC, who in his first year in this position, hasn’t been great.I think it’s realistic that KP has his third OC in three years OR we have another season with a lot of turnover cause this offense never jived.
We continue to lose games in disgusting ways. We did that a number of times under Dorrel. Characteristic of teams that don’t have a winning mentality or cohesive approach.
Enough has been said about the 3-3-5.

I am as disappointed in this year's performance as the next guy. I was unable to attend Tarleton game in person, but I was able to find relatives who used our 4 tix, so the seats were used -- unlike the Utah Tech game, where I tried to give the tix away to several people and could find no takers. My wife is seriously questioning the renewal of our season tix, since we were only able to make it to 2 of the games in person (we were able to give away our tix to 2 of the games). I guess I will cross that bridge next year. I was able to watch portions of the games on TV.
For a brief instant early in the 4th quarter, it appeared that my 6-5 prediction for the season might actually happen. Now it will take an upset for the ages to make that 6-5 season happen.
I guess what is most frustrating to me is that this team did not appear to improve over last year, except in the placekicking area. It appears on paper, that ACU had better athletes overall than in the past, but they simply did not live up to the potential. I think it is short-sighted to go looking for a new coaching staff, although some of the responsibilities might need to be shuffled around. No way that 2 years is enough time to get things turned around, particularly when looking at the state of the roster at the end of the previous regime.

Not a coach but it seems to me that we have problems with play design, play calling, and the O line. We have four (five?) very good running backs yet seem to be unable to have a consistent running game. Any comments from someone who has knowledge about this?
Also, the total collapse in the fourth quarter was miserable to watch. Three or four plays seemed to make all of the difference in the final score.
Thought that we had a decent student turnout until I realized that half of the people sitting over there were Tarlton fans.
Am more worried about the portal after this ugly last home game.

Question: when you invest in a new scheme (i.e. 3-3-5 defense) in the spring, summer and fall and then see it isn't working in actual games-what are your options? Apply bandaids, change personnel, change coaches, change scheme mid-stream.
Question: when you have a staff of young coaches who are in their 1st or 2nd year of being a coordinator or position coach, how long does a HC allow for them to fully grow into that role?
Question: when you bring in athletes from the portal who may not have played meaningful minutes in games for a year or 2 or 3(but are better athletes than we've had), how long is reasonable to wait for them to meld into a team and produce positive results?
I plead guilty at having thought there would be immediate positive results but I see now I was being unrealistic. Building a team, program and culture is a process. Are we willing to support as we wait. I see progress in many areas. I'm willing to wait.
