Season nearly over. We lose 3 players (Taylor, Spivey and Guisti) to graduation. Spivey and Guisti (until injured) were offensive weapons this year. We are really young and with the addition of 11 recruits next year could be even younger. Our weaknesses this year seemed to be hitting in the clutch, fielding (way too many errors for this level of baseball) and pitching. At the beginning of the year many thought pitching would be a strength (6-7 pitchers in the 90 mph range?). We add one quality pitcher in JUCO transfer Aaron Mason, several catchers to take Spiveys place (including JUCO transfer Copeland), a quality infielder in Huson (dad played 12 seasons of major league ball) and maybe a power hitter in Fajardo in our 11 recruits.. These are all "needs" we have but our pitching record this year indicates we need a few more arms. We've lost several extra and late inning games (which I believe Guisti could have made a difference) but this just goes to show our lack of quality depth. Hoping our young players can be developed into gamers and that we finish strong. Looking forward to next years product. Go Cats.
