I don't know if this has been discussed here before or not, but I see that Kade Parmelly, OL from Abilene Wylie, shows on his twitter bio that he is an ACU commit. That's great news. I noticed this a couple of days ago. I thought I just missed the discussion. This is great news.

You all have to take into consideration that his scholarship offer was extended from the old staff. I'd like to think that new coach is willing to 're-recruit' and keep that offer if said coach finds Kade to be the type of player he wants.

Yes, this is obvious that the new coach will have to "re-recruit" him. But I think it speaks volumes that he has it on his twitter bio that he is an ACU commit even when there is no coach in place.

Somehow I think young Mr Parmelly will get his scholarship.

Enjoyed watching Pamelly play in the state championship game against Carthage. He played a lot of defensive line as well as O line. Looks like a player to me, very athletic.

With the addition of JW Walsh to the ACU coaching staff, that could greatly influence our recruiting in the Denton and DFW area. His dad is the head coach at Denton Guyer with lots of great connections. One Running Back the previous coaches were watching close was Myron Mason from Denton Guyer. Maybe Walsh can get him here. We could be set if we can bring in the Abilene High RB and one more solid freshman RB.

Do you think there's a chance of getting Omar Manning now that his uncle is on the staff?

Do you think there's a chance of getting Omar Manning now that his uncle is on the staff? I don't think there's any chance. He can go just about wherever he wants, I just don't think he would choose ACU. But it sure would be nice.

Mavsman53, can you see who the new coaches may be following now that they are at ACU. Wondering if any of their previous contacts might consider a move to Texas. Do we know if Gent is in Texas now, if coaches are meeting discussing prospects or are they still in the process of adding coaches. Is January 16 the day contacts can be made again?

Just checking in. Aren't most of their previous contacts D2 prospects? I know there is some overlap but I would hope ,it's of our recruits would be FCS borderline FBS rather than D2 borderline FCS.

Walsh started following a running back from Mesquite High, Chance Fisher and the RB from Guyer that was previously mentioned, Myron Mason. Fisher is currently committed to Northern Iowa.
It also seems that a number of coaches are following LT Jessie, a WR from Lancaster. Looks like he is also a track recruit since his Twitter mentions track offer from Memphis, maybe trackfan can enlighten us?

Lamontris (LT) Johnson-Jessie is an outstanding sprinter at Lancaster. He started HS at Dallas Kimball, but moved to Lancaster last year - Lancaster is one of the top track and field high schools around. He just missed going to state last year as he finished 3rd in the Region II-5A in the 100 with a wind-aided 10.50 in the prelims (10.68 in the finals). He also led off the Lancaster 4x100 relay that was 4th in the Texas Relays and 2nd in the 5A state meet. This kid would be a really nice addition for the track team.
