What are your favorite spots to eat in Abilene town?
I just discovered a new to me BBQ place, Stillwater BBQ on South 14th. Really good brisket. The ribs looked good but I didn't order them so I can't say for sure.

What are your favorite spots to eat in Abilene town? I just discovered a new to me BBQ place, Stillwater BBQ on South 14th. Really good brisket. The ribs looked good but I didn't order them so I can't say for sure. Stillwater is probably the best BBQ in town now. Really good stuff. Ann's Thai Kitchen on S 1st is really good and authentic. Joe's Pizza and Pasta has a really good lunch buffet, but the best pizza in the area is the Pizza House in Clyde. Mexican? Lots of places. La Popular is still king, especially for carne guisada burritos and tamales, but Monterrey on N 10th is one of my favorites. For classic country cooking it doesn't get better than Dixie Pig on Butternut (cash only). Looking for healthy food? The Natural Food store on S 7th is really good. Steaks and other grilled meats? Lytle, unless you want to spend a few shekels then you should drive out to Buffalo Gap and eat at Perini's. Last but not least, if you want a unique experience and the best food you'll ever eat, and have a few hundies to spend on dinner, you MUST try Rancho Loma outside of Coleman, TX. Trust me, that place is a must, at least once. Expensive but worth every penny if you are a foodie. I've eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the US (including Club 21 in NYC, Oyster House in Boston, Old Ebbitt Grille in DC, among others), and Rancho Loma rivals them all.

Some of the best food in Abilene is from the Food Trucks that are springing up around town. ACU's own 1881 is fantastic...particularly the street tacos and lobster roll (or most anything else featuring lobster).Vagabond Pizza is another great food truck offering.
