Surely the coaching staff knows something we don't. Dorrel isn't the kind of coach that would put winning above all else.

I would hope JW Walsh would know.

The more I read about it the more concerned I am about this. He was off the team for 'some unknown reason' then commits this crime during the middle of a Saturday aftednoon.

Yes the staff knows. My guess is the player showed interest in us. This is where having Coach Walsh helps. He knows the player personally and will know if he would be a good fit here or not.
A month ago, there was another TCU player arrested. I spoke to Coach Walsh about him. He told me he was a really good kid that made a mistake.
Let's hope, if Mitchell signs here, that this is the case too

Coach Jackson sent me a message and said that Breylin has not been offered and has no idea why he said that he did. So that solves that.

I thought it was unusual that not a single ACU coach was following Bryelin.
That's 2 high profile players who have posted on social media that ACU has offered them when we have not.

He is only a Sophomore, class of 2019. This happens a lot as well; underclassmen getting an invite

Do they normally invite a lot players from out of state who they normally wouldn't be able to see?

It makes sense that they would since players are paying their way to get there.

I would not say schools bring in a lot of out of out of state talent, but yes, there will be some. Schools can often have more than one Jr. Day if they choose. Several Big 12 schools have already had 2.
