Braden Bossier, from Fairfield, has committed to play volleyball at ACU -- she is a 2020 grad. Braden will fill a huge need for ACU -- getting height into the middle blocker position. Braden is 6-2 as a HS junior and has been a regular attender at ACU's volleyball camps.
Braden's Dad, Scott Bossier, is a 1981 ACU grad and a long-time friend of mine. Braden's maternal Grandfather is Jim Woodroof, a long-time Church of Christ minister. The Bossier name is synonymous with car sales -- Scott owns the Bossier auto dealership in Hillsboro right next to I-35 and his Dad owned the Bossier dealership in Bryan-College Station for decades.

Braden will join Breanna Box and Elizabeth Ober - 2019 recruits who are also 6’2”. Pretty good front line size going forward.

Yes, Cap'n, ACU will get an influx of badly needed height the next 2 years. I was reading an article recently pointing out that volleyball is getting lots more athletes as girls' HS basketball is losing participants: www.espn.com/espnw/sports/article/18659764/why-young-athletes-flocking-volleyball-not-basketball-record-numbersThe upshot is that more and more tall girls are moving to VB and ACU has been at a disadvantage at the net for the past several years due to a height disadvantage. My grand-daughter's club volleyball team has 8 of the 11 girls at 6 foot or taller and 5 of those are 6-1 or taller and they are ranked #3 in the country for girl's 18U. This influx of 3 6-2 players recruited by Coach Mooney will make a huge difference in the next few years.

Sounds like there is a natural flow for some of those girls on your granddaughter's team to flow right into the ACU family stream! You can make that happen, right?

Texas48 - I certainly tried, but to no avail. Of the 11 players on the team, 10 signed with D-1 programs and one with a D-2 program (Harding). This is a 18U team and most all volleyballers are committed no later than the end of their junior season. One of my grand-daughter's teammates committed to U of Texas after her freshman year of HS. And that teammate's parents are both ACU grads.
