The guys are killing it so far today. Yeah they are, but Mitchell Dickson getting killed - three HBPs in the early game today.

Double header sweep and scored 10 runs in both games. Some timely hitting and good starting pitching. Interesting to see who starts tomorrow.

Facebook entree says "juggernaut"; may be a tad early for that.

Utah Valley was 15-41 last year also.

I think we'll definitely be better than last year but juggernaut is not realistic. I'm hoping we can finish in the 6th-7th range and be competitive game in and game out.

Agree '97, we seem to be taking some steps in the right directions. It is still early though.

Honestly with how many new faces are on this team just finishing around where we were at last year would be acceptable.

We tie it up 3-3, bottom 9, no outs.
Another walk-off?

Looks like a very promising team. A mix of experience and youth. Freshmen--Cromer-ss, Krawietz-P, Ladasau-OF, Clearman-OF, Brannon-C, and sophs--Dickson-C, Wagner-P, Hawkins-P, Adkins-P. Several pitchers who didn't get in this series like Cuffee, Glaze and Johnson. I like what I see. Hope we're competitive vs. TCU and UCSB.

Baseball at TCU tonight. While it is still very early in the season some things about the 1st 4 game series stood out to me. #1--We held out last year's best pitcher, so he could start at TCU. That's a luxury we did not have last year. #2--We started several freshmen who look like they are players in the 1st series. Cromer at SS really impressed me. Ladusau in the OF was solid, in fact our whole OF played well. Even though Kraweitz didn't go many innings he was "effectively wild" and showed great promise. Clearman was a little iffy at the plate (he did get 2 hits in limited at bats) but he has great speed and baseball instincts. Cruz and Dickson came through with clutch hits. The infield was solid and we had many good at bats. Better competition may change all these observations but I think we are down playing how good this team might be. We have a ways to go but I'm thinking upper middle of the pack in the SLC.

Utah Valley was 15-41 last year also. UVU is essentially just a feeder school for BYU. They haven't had a winning season since 2016 when they went to regionals. It used to be called Utah Valley State College until receiving university status just about a decade ago. It's now enrolling up to 47K students. This is a good victory for ACU to start the season but really looking forward to tonight

A good showing tonight would be great for sure. Unfortunately I kind of see it like the way I did football's games against UNT and then the AZ ACU. We did ok against UNT and blew out ACU like expected. It still didn't tell us a whole lot about how the season turned out. I like what I am seeing so far. It will take time and consistency for any success to show itself. What I like is seeing so many new faces come togather quickly. I hope to see that get even better.

Pretty good country beating tonight. We stuck with it in the middle innings and scored 4 runs. A little intimidation early I think. Our guys competed at the plate excet for Cazarin. Scared of the ball and steps back on every pitch. Couldn't hit a slider with a log. Don't know if Ladasau injured himself badly or not but Clearman earned a shot at starting. Not sure if we have another inf. but I'd replace Cazarin. We also lose some quality behind the plate with Brannen. It's early and we're young. Going undefeated was not to be.
