I was thinking more John David Just giving the T-sips a poke. Frankly as long as he becomes something closer to either Mayfield or John David than Tammy Faye we are in good shape.

UT is looking for a QB as well. But but not an Oklahoma State Poke (or was that a poke in the ribs?)

Another PWO out to CB Logan Arnold from Austin Vandergift HS. Arnold is listed at 5'11, 175. Per Twitter earlier today, Arnold is 100% committed to UMHB.

Mavsman--any word on transfers that might be enrolled? JUCO's?

There are 2 transfers enrolled, RB Smith and LB Brannon. Jimerson is not enrolled as of yet, but he will be here over the summer.
I do think there will be other transfers announced on Wednesday, though there is nothing official.
JUCO is about different. Most JUCOs will play in the Spring, so it is difficult to get a player right now. I also think ACU is playing their cards differently this year. A lot of our JUCO transfers have not worked. So the goal appears to be high school and impact transfers for FBS/FCS schools

You have said a lot of our JUCOS have not worked out and I agree. There is a reason most of them wound up in a Junior college and except for a few I am not sure they can overcome what's needed in division one FCS. A few will and some even at FBS schools (late bloomers) but the odds are not as great as proven talent and the initial scholarship to maintain the academic rigors of division one. Of course there are exceptions and there are high school stars that don't cut it at the universities, but the odds seems better in the new approach to recruiting you mention.
Thinking of exceptions, I don't think a whole lot of speed is gained once in college but some linemen and backers can get stronger and gain useful weight.
BTW, some of the larger PWO big men coming in, do you know their 40 times?

Honestly, I never worry about a 40 time for an offensive lineman. How often will one of them run 40 yards in a single play? Honestly what matters most is shuttle times, which we will rarely get to see at the high school level and their strength

And that is true. I just wonder really about quickness. The way blitzes are today requires offensive tackles to really be both strong as well as quick (make that relatively quick.)

For offensive lineman, if you want to measure quickness, you do it with the 3-cone drill and 10 yard split. The 3-cone drill is all about change of direction. The 10 yard split shows how fast a player can get off the line to down the field

The 10 yard split shows how fast a player can get off the line to down the field I am not up to speed on the latest scouting metrics but these two drills sure sound better than straight line sprinting for linemen.
