Yes, that is another world from where ACU operates.

Yes, that is another world from where ACU operates. We are at least a galaxy away. It must be hard for for them to imagine a quaint little school like ours where the President makes more than the Head Coaches.

Yeah, wow. That's a lot of $. The most recent tax filing for ACU is 2018 (which is obviously 2017 info, so this is 3 years lagging)and Dorrell is listed there as making around $229,000. Curious to know what our other coaches make. Does anyone know why ACU does not have a Form 990 for 2019 posted? For tax-exempt organizations like ACU, they are required by law to list the top paid individuals in their organization (see here-https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/750851900). I'm thinking that Joe, and likely Julie both are in that top tier with their new contracts. Does anyone know?

I study 990's a lot and it is rare to see a 2019 990 posted as early as 2020. The IRS uses Guidestar, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, to post the 990 and that is only after the IRS have done a thorough review. The IRS is so cash-strapped right now that I am thrilled to see the 2018 990 on line already. Technically, anyone can request the most recent 990 from any 501(c)(3) simply by asking for it, but I rarely see that done.

I really enjoy the "what I like about my teammates" series the women's basketball team is doing. Kudos to whoever came up with the idea.

I am certainly hoping to see something published soon on the 2020-21 schedules for the women (and for the men). Two days ago, Coach Goodenough tweeted that it was "a month until our first home game" -- which would translate to November 25 (Thanksgiving eve). On October 24, there was a tweet on ACU men's basketball that tipoff was in "32 days" -- which would also calculate to Nov 25 as well, but it does not specify that it will be a home game.
With students leaving the campus on Nov 25 not to return until Jan 11th, I suspect there will be many games that will be prior to students returning to campus. I want to get the games on the schedule soon and try to be in town for what promises to be 2 very good Wildcat basketball teams.

Congrats to Anna McLeod and Makayla Mabry for being named to the preseason All SLC team. Anna is a first team pick. Makayla made the second team.

is it just me or does the Women's non-conference schedule feel weak compared to the Men's non-confrence schedule?
Nov. 25 vs. Howard Payne
Nov. 28 vs. McMurry
Dec. 1 vs. Texas Permian Basin
Dec. 4 @ Northern Colorado
Dec. 10 vs. UMHB
Dec. 13 @ Texas A&M
Dec. 15 vs. UT Tyler
Dec. 19 @ UAB
Dec. 20 @ Stetson

I think the difference is how many returners are back. For the men, all return. For the women, they lost quite a bit of talent. Still lots of talent on the roster, but let's get some easy wins, find out who is ready to go before we get to conference play.

I agree with you on the amount of talent on the roster that left after last year, but I rather see the freshman get some playing time against some big colleges so incase covid hits the team so they are ready for conference play at least.

Due to season starting two weeks late, women lost road game at Univ of New Mexico and home games vs Portland and Wright State. Just glad they are playing games.
