Ledoux, I hear what you are saying, but what if he's instant offense off the bench? There are lots of players that have made a good living being great scorers off the bench; Lou Williams, Jamal Crawford, Jason Terry, etc. I'm not comparing Gayman to them, but I am saying there is precedent

I'd say the coach knows what he is doing. I'd start Clay also but I'm just a fan and don't know the inner workings of this team. Golding is a master at getting the most out of his team. If Clay comes off the bench and scores 17 per night and we win by 23--sounds like a pretty good strategy.

Manny Allen did not disappoint. 8 points today. May well be a double digit scorer for us. I like our bench strength. If the freshmen can get some time and develop their games by conference we ought to be set. Liked some of the national sports twitter comments. From Major Madness--"If that's the real Abilene Christian the SLC will be a very good league. A team with real size that makes 3's. Big time."

Clay was the most talented all around player on last years team and was treated like a dog. He’s heads and shoulders above anyone on this years roster for certain. Name me one time a team’s best player has ever came off the bench and played under half the game. He’s being held back and it’s a crying shame. I watched him in AAU destroy kids with multiple high major offers tournament after tournament.

Alright so what’s your relation to clay and let’s quit beating around the bush. Not sure what you’re getting at here on this board.

I’m his dad and I’m not beating around the bush about anything, just stating facts. I’ve read these silly posts for two years, finally thought I’d chime in on super silliness of the day.

Well we hope the best for your son and enjoy watching him play. Also enjoy watching the team win games.

I sure would like to see more of Clay. There is some old precedence for an all pro NBA player that did not start all the time but came off the bench for the Boston Celtics, very famous, but I cannot remember his name.

Seems kind of odd to complain on a message board about your son's playing time. I think all of us on here think highly of Clay and the way he has played for ACU.
If you really feel the way you do, I don't know, maybe you should contact Coach Golding. I'm sure that will go well

Arm Chair Head Coach, Clay is 21, and we have zero relationship with the great coach Golding. Judging by your posts, your basketball knowledge is very limited, so you can keep your advice.

My basketball knowledge is pretty limited but if Clay is as unhappy as dad with ACU basketball why is he still here? I would have left and gone to a school where I could be THE guy. Maybe he is the best guy on the court and his minutes will show that by the end of the season.

There you go again offering your opinion about something you know nothing about. You’ve never been in any of the spots you talk about yet you continue to say what you’d do. 😂🤦🏻♂️

And if my son was 21 I would let him make his own decisions about his basketball future. This isn’t high school or AAU where the loudest parent gets his way.

I'm a huge Clay fan, Ledouxfan, and I feel ya. I've been saying all along that this is Clay's year to show that he's what we think he is. Get the frustration, I really do! I suspect that if his scoring continues to be as it was yesterday, there is no way he stays on the bench. I get the scoring coming off the bench argument, but not if it is your leading scorer or two. Be patient!

Be patient! It is true Clay came off the bench in the opening game. It is also true that he played more minutes (19) than stater Kohl (17) and only one minute less than starter Pleasant (20). Whether he starts or not Clay is clearly an integral part of a team that looked more than capable of putting together a third straight 20 plus win season and making the NCAA.
