I saw the tweet from Ty Taylor earlier today. I had hoped he would break into the CB rotation this year, but he only saw the field in 2-3 games.

A perfect fit for Kade. He can even start on that Seminary degree he wants to pursue.
Another school I sure don't mind losing a grad transfer to -- just like Jack Gibbens and Minnesota

This is one of those areas where the student didn't have to tranfer out to accomplish the academic goal. Anyway, hope the best for him, he may have just really been ready for a change in scenery. I do understand utilizing different schools for undergrad and grad school from experience.

You are spot on about the value of two different schools for undergraduate and graduate education. Plus, most of the time, a faculty selection has to first go somewhere else before perhaps returning to a university as faculty. It is all a part of getting a wider range of knowledge.

I’m not an academic, and I know some on here tout ACU’s prestige especially compared to our Southland peers, but ACU isn’t on the same level as Duke.

ACU has some specialty areas that are increasing their recognition, but we are still not on par yet. I harp on ACU when we tout our regional rankings but aren't on the national rankings at all, even Harding, Lipscomb, etc... are. It's nice to see our student athletes, as well as general students, do well here and then move on to the next level institution and continue to do well.

Happy for Kade. Duke has a renowned school of theology with a world-class faculty. That he was accepted for graduate school is a feather in ACUs cap. I doubt that the Duke grad school would have let someone in just to play football ....

Regional vs national rankings is a relatively meaningless distinction for undergraduates. It’s based solely on the number of doctoral degrees we confer each year. I believe we now offer applied doctorates in Ministry, Educational Leadership and Nursing? Harding and Lipscomb both offer several applied doctorates, including a pharm D degree that turns out a fairly large number of grads each year and changes their Carnegie classification, the basis for USNWR’s “national universities” designation. We aren’t and won’t be on par with Duke. Duke’s peers are Ivy League schools. What we can do is offer excellent preparation for success in grad programs at elite programs such as these.

There are overall ratings which are published by several sources and then there are departmental ratings which are more often known only within the disciplines and by other universities and specific business types. There is also undergraduate excellence and graduate school excellence. So a Duke is extremely famous as an overall great school but they are not really at the top in some degree areas. It all depends on what you want to study. ACU was a national leader in implementing competitively funded grant support for research done by undergraduates in some areas dating back several decades ago, and I know for a fact one program was pretty much the model for degree requirements in a particular field in the country of Canada. You know a program is good when a Nobel Laureate comes to ACU to recruit graduate students. Within the Southland, at least in the areas I know, ACU stands tall, and in some areas ACU is pretty much unique for undergraduates. You should hear a national lab leader brag about our undergrads -- inspiring.
This is an older video from 10 years ago. Now it is even better. with both next gen national lab research as well as NEXT Lab.

Wednesday is the early signing period. JUCO and high school kids can begin signing then. We have 6 high school commits, so it will be interesting to see if they put pen to paper on Wednesday. As of now, we don't have any JUCO commits
As far as transfers out of the program, so far, these are the only 4 that have left. There will likely be more, but nothing official yet.
