Georgia fans enjoyed the Cotton Bowl game as much as OU fans, #BoomsrSooner

That one was quite a blow out! Let's offer OU's second string QB an "old fashioned" scholarship including a job at Rooster Andrews' place. UT ex's will know what that means. P.S. I don't mean it, of course. I was just remembering my old friends at Texas who got "expanded" scholarships.

I didn't see the "altercation" at the end of the MSU-Tulsa game. Not sure who was at fault but the blame should be placed at the feet of the officials who allowed MSU players to try to imtimidate before the game began and then allowed the constant jawing from both squads throughout the game. Should have been players thrown out immediately and unsportsmanlike penalties doled out. MSU coaches should be penalized by the SEC for their antics during the game which kept stoking the fire. But of course the overrated SEC will do nothing as always. I'm tired of a sport being allowed to disintegrate into gang fights under the guise of passion.

Ok, I mount my high horse here... forgive me but sports used to include the term sportsmanship. Without sportsmanship, I don't see a modern need for sports -- it is a critical part of why we play sports. Our athletes don't really learn anything from unsportsmanlike behavior. Might as well have Colosseum Gladiator fights. There are important character lessons related to sportsmanship. If it degrades to violence and brutality, then penalties are clearly in order. Just my opinion. I thought perhaps it was just me but it seems our referees and umpires allow a lot more disgusting actions than in the past. Maybe it is just our society becoming more accepting of less civilized behavior.

Congrats to Georgia but very poor play calling and execution on Cincinatti on their last possession. Twice going out of bounds and then throwing an incomplete pass on 3rd down with Georgia out of TO's. Could have run 40 more secs of the clock and that would have been enough.

How to lose a Gator Bowl... You are ahead and have the ball with the clock running out. But your QB calls for the snap with 10 seconds un-used clock time. Then you have third and 2 from your 40 and you throw a pass that stops the clock with about a minute and a half left in the game... so you punt. Well, Georgia goes down field for a fifty one yard field goal and wins the game. Oh, the kick came with 7 seconds left. Two ways that extra time should not have been available to them. An undefeated season ended for Cincinnati, who otherwise played quite well. There should not have been time left for Georgia to win that game.
Note: I did not even include running out of bounds twice, which has been mentioned already.

As a Georgia fan I’ll take the win. With some key players on D and on the O!ine opting out I was concerned that the Bearcats would pull an upset. I think they felt they would catch the Georgia D off guard on the 3rd down play with the Dawgs and everyone else expecting a run.

I agree Oscar. The defensive back made an extraordinary save and battered the pass away without ever looking back and somehow did not touch the intended receiver. That one play allowed Georgia the opportunity to win the game, but the Bearcats could have easily have used more clock and won -- which would indeed have been an upset.

So far the Rose Bowl game seems to give more weight to our Aggie friends' claim that they deserved to play Alabama. The Tide is super tough on D and surprisingly quick on O. I thought ND would be a lot more physical. Still the game is not over, just strongly suggesting Alabama is stronger.

Thoughts while watching the Rose Bowl....the hard truth is most years there aren’t enough really good FBS teams to justify a four team playoff much less 8 or 16. Notre Dame is getting schooled by Alabama. They are in good company, the Tide also rolled by Florida, TAMU and Georgia. I’m not sure who else has an argument for being omitted.

Looks like Clemson has bitten off more than they can chew. Dabo made enough negative statements about OSU to fill a bulletin board. Maybe he will rethink that tactic next time. The targeting call on Skalski (warranted) will make any comeback almost impossible. I do not understand why tacklers keep lowering their heads to deliver a blow.

Watching the Orange Bowl and TAMU sure does not look like a #5 in the nation, at least not yet (third quarter.) They just lost an interception in the end zone due to 12 men on the field. Well, somehow they pulled it out.

Clearly the two best teams are in the championship. Should be an entertaining game. Gotta love Justin Fields. That guy is a baller. Oscar, Georgia may have bet on the wrong QB. What do you think? Also, OU transfer Trey Sermon seems to have found a good home.
Sarkisian to UT. Can anybody survive in that toxic culture? Luckily, if he saves his money he’ll come out with a nice retirement.

I hate to say it but I think Fields made a good decision. He’s been a perfect fit for Ohio State’s offense and he’s developed a lot under the guidance of their QB coach. I’m not sure he’d be the same QB had he stayed at UGA in a different system with a different QB coach.
