A lot depends on Moore and his health and his level of play. He’s a D1 drop down from a major program. Small school kid that was heavily recruited by obviously didn’t face a high level of competition. Hopefully it was a matter of scenery change, coaching turnover, and tough rotation to crack that led to his transfer and we will see him thrive at our level. His frame and high school film show he has the body to do it, hopefully his health is up to it and the level of competition and practice over the past few years has him game ready. Behind fellow UT transfer Bobby Tatum, maybe the highest ranked recruit ever to join the program as mavsman mentioned.
Lots of project linebackers with good frames but that will need to gain weight and strength while maintaining speed.
I like the TE as an immediate blocker and contributor.
Quarterback signee is an athlete too and could end up playing a different position too if the room is too crowded.

247 clearly doesn’t follow Cat Chat. They haven’t updated their site to include today’s signings. They have updated some of our rivals like UIW, just not us.

The NSD List- QB Hayden Anderson, Keller, 6'1, 185 RB Jar'Quae Walton, Waco La Vega, 5'9, 175 OL- Reese Moore (formerly of Texas), 6'7, 304 OL- Jax Andrews (3-star recruit), Schertz Clemens, 6'4, 295 DE- Tyrin Bradley (3-star recruit), Lubbock Monterrey, 6'4, 245 DT- Isaiah Pedack, Highland Park, 6'3, 250 DT- Landon Eades, Boerne Champion, 6'3, 280 LB- Ethan, Taite, Frisco Independence, 6'2, 195 LB- Cirby Coheley, Iowa Park, 6'3, 205 LB- John Brannon, (formerly of Texas St), 6'1, 240 S- Luke Dillingham, Brock, 6'1, 195 I believe that Anthony Smith RB was a 3 star coming out of HS, so we are adding at least 1--4 star and 3-3 stars, for whatever that means. And for what it's worth Hayden Anderson, Kyle Pointer, Luke Dillingham and Colt Cooper are very good too.

Quite a difference from last year when we announced 33 recruits and transfers. Of the 33, I believe 12 were transfers. Some of those guys never made it to school. But with those who made the roster and stayed (getting a free year) we now have lots of players with 4 full years of eligibility plus last year's group has a year of experience under their belts (plus weight training) and now will get a spring of practice too. We have to be better off for that. I'm thinking of Chris Satterfield, Stone Earle, Jermiah Dobbins, Damion Hart, Abe Schwinn (RSF), Jacob Thielen (RSF), Dylan Howerton, Wyatt Tate (RSF), Hayden Burke, Ty Smith, Darius Lewis, Noah Caldwell, Grant Miles, Isaiah Davis, Davion Johnson, Cameron Byrom, Austin Lozano, D.K. Blaylock, and Trace Price. Any of these guys could turn out to be good players for us in the near future. Evidently we aren't thru with transfers this year but seems to me we are building a pretty good foundation. We need a few game changers to be complete (especially at WR) but we are making progress. "Looking for the good."

I'm not disappointed with the class. I see lots of talent and potential. My focus is on what we do with it. I have seen talent and potential before. We have some serious holes to fill and it will take these kids and a little more. I agree that if the ones that stayed continue to develop and step it up, as well as the new ones developing well, we can begin to see some success again. It's a long way until Sept. Will see what the new and older ones do.

I am now getting Matt Brown's "Extra Points" newsletter and I feel much better about our signing class this year than I felt about it yesterday. The idea that ACU would be scraping around for players out of the transfer portal has the smell of desperation to me. BUT, the newsletter pointed out that everyone is doing the same thing this year (and possibly for the future). It pointed out that Texas State did not sign a single HS player -- they went fully JUCO and transfer players. A big reason why ACU stated for the move from D-2 to D-1 nine years ago was to be able to do a lot more recruiting of HS players (players who qualify at the D-1 level academically and would fit in better at ACU on the academic side). So, seeing what other schools are doing tells me that ACU is actually doing better at getting HS signees with potential than many FBS schools. I look at the HS kids we recruited this year and I see that each of them appear to have a chance of contributing in the near future at ACU and I feel better about this recruiting class.
HOWEVER, I don't feel very good about our chances as a team in 2021, but that is a discussion for a later time. That will also be dependent on who we play in the 4 games we still need to fill. Looking at the 7 games that are already on tap (SMU, Southern Utah, plus 5 WAC conference games) I am seeing 0-7 staring us in the face. If we add the three schools who are moving to the A-Sun in 2022 (UCA, Jacksonville State, and Eastern Kentucky) for the 2021 season, I certainly don't see any gimmes. Pretty scary to see what 2021 may hold for the Wildcats.

Pretty scary to see what 2021 may hold for the Wildcats. I'd like to point out also that the WAC will not have an AQ to the FCS playoffs due to only 4 teams being playoff eligible (ACU, SHSU, SFA, Lamar). Tarleton, & Dixie are still in transition so aren't post season eligible. Will be interesting to see what happens with scheduling here soon (hopefully). *edit* I'll also point out that anyone that's in the WAC or ASUN has little to no chance of getting an at large bid without full conference schedules, I hope I eat my words, but I just don't see it happening

Catattack, the proposal has been floated to have the 3 schools moving to the A-Sun play in a hybrid conference that includes the 4 eligible WAC schools (the Texas 4) for one season -- 2021 only. That way there could be an AQ for that hybrid conference. I have read that a waiver has been submitted to the NCAA to explore that option.
That will not help the AQ for the WAC schools only in 2022 and 23, until Tarleton and Dixie State complete their transition period. That can only be addressed by the addition of 1 more current FCS school - someone like Northern Arizona or Northern Colorado.

It concerns me a little that of the high school kids we signed, only one was even first team all district. Maybe the others lost out to guys that went to UT or A&M but it seems like D1 level players would at least be first team in their own district. Hopefully I'm wrong and we found some hidden gems.
Edit: Of the ones that signed yesterday.

Which of ACU's football walk-on candidates had "signing" ceremonies yesterday. I see on-line that Carson Cross, the QB from FW Christian did. Mavsman, were there any others?

Trackfan, to my knowledge, all 9 walk-ons signed yesterday. I will double check tonight, but last night when I went through the list, all had some type of ceremony
