Have we ever gotten 5-3 stars before + a 4-star? And still looking for some dropdowns.

The 2014 and 2015 classes had some star power. They ended up going through a coaching change and many of the flashier names didn’t last or pan out unfortunately.

The Chris Thomson era had some pretty good talent. Not sure we have had such players or maybe developed such players since. Of course it is all relative since the level of competition changes. His record was 61-21 with four coach of year titles in the old Lone Star. If we could get to 61-21 in FCS, we would really make news.

As I recall at one time during the Chris Thomson era there were as many as 5 former Wildcats on NFL rosters as well as several playing in Canada. NFL scouts came to ACU pro days en masse. ACU hasn’t had this level of talent under Dorrel. In terms of winning, as good as CT wasnhis teams never won a D2 championship. Dorrel Won 3 national championships at the D2 level. Now that would make some news in FCS circles.

You also have to remember there was a reason the talent dropped down to us when we were D2. Many times, the talent definitely could play anywhere, but couldn't qualify for anywhere.
Now, we have moved up to where that said talent couldn't qualify because admission standards for D1 FBS and FCS athletics are higher than D2. We have to take that into account when trying to compare the two staffs and the talent pools recruited.

The CT teams were pretty amazing, but I don't think we ever even made the third round, much less a NC. One very painful playoff loss still stands out though...... Damn you Danny Woodhead..

Why doesn't ACU have their logo and player feeds on 247 Sports. All the other teams in the Southland conference teams have their logos and some appear to have a data/information feeds showing team highlights and accolades. In this look at me culture we live in now...How do we expect to catch players eye when ACU doesn't appear on most prominent information sites for aspiring college athletes? Please do not give me we/ACU appear in US NEWS College Rankings...
I thought i read somewhere on one of the strings ACU had or knew someone that worked for 247sports. What does it cost to have ACU on the 247 Sports platform?

What does it cost to have ACU on the 247 Sports platform? It's a free service, and they have to cover us. Feel free to look up the 247 sports contact us and send email. I've complained (and irritated them) over this. Perhaps if more did this we'd see movement. I should add 247 is owned by CBS, and there are people in the ACU orbit that know CBS rather well. It makes no sense to me to not be linked here.

It makes no sense to me to not be linked here. I sent a message to (support@247Sports.com) asking why ACU is the only Southland Conference team listed that does not have a link back to the university or with their team logo. I'll let everyone know what 247Sports has to say once they respond.
Everyone i suggest we all follow JCat's lead and send a message to 247Sports requesting that ACU's information to be added to 247Sports site. I set a monthly reminder on my calendar. Hopefully if we all band together on this request...we can get 247Sports to capitulate and add ACU's team information.

On my twitter page, anytime ACU offers a player, I tweet at 247sports. They have yet to like or retweet anything. However, FSCTracker almost always retweets what I put out there. Very frustrating

So below is the text of a message I sent to 247 sports about their poor to laughable coverage of our program. This note was dated Jan 21 2020. The info is still wrong.
Since there’s no better explanation, I do think it represents a purposeful campaign of personal slight against our school. I have asked if schools have to pay them to get accurate coverage, and they bristled a bit at the suggestion that their journalism was pay to play.
————- 247 Sports,
Could Jordan Paup's profile page be updated to reflect that he has chosen to transfer to Abilene Christian University? It currently shows that he went to Abilene Christian high school. Really?
Again, as I have mentioned in other emails, this strikes me as a personal slight against our division 1 program. I might even offer that it is a program of personal slight, exhibited by your company. If you would like a list of examples, I can provide them.
Please make this correction and treat us as you would any other FCS Program

My request to 247Sports for a recruiting page "has been passed on to the site management" folks. Monitoring.
