I liked the way these refs called the game. They let them play unless an obvious foul. That plays into our favor. We were so much quicker and except for several minutes without a really good scoring unit on the floor we really were in no danger of letting them back into the game. Their obvious lack of a big man hurt them. Buster and Harrison kept them in the game with great 3-point shooting but it just was not enough. We moved the ball and passed well while harassing them on every possession. 29-2 points off turnovers in our favor. Good game, on to Corpus.

For me, listening to the game on the radio and looking at that stats, the best thing I notice about the Lamar game for ACU is that Clay Gayman appears to have gotten his Mojo back. He played 23 minutes, scored 17 points (3 for 5 from 3-point land) and when Lamar started overplaying the 3-point shot, he was slashing to the basket. That is good for ACU. When we get a good balance of minutes from the "big 3" -- Kolton Kohl had 23 minutes and Joe Pleasant had 21 to Clay's 22 minutes -- we seem to flourish, with each big bringing a different style of play. KK ended up with 12 points and 4 rebounds and a block; Joe Pleasant had 5 points and 6 rebounds; and Clay had 5 rebounds and a block to go with his 17 points.

Great news! We need Clay to be "normal" again.
