We certainly aren't the bottom baseball feeders. We are still young, but our guys are turning this program around. I agree that this series has validated a lot of things. Let's win next weekend and then go from there.

Today was pretty impressive through 8 innings and gutsy for the bottom of the ninth. Chirpich's 10Ks and zero walks through 8 innings says something huge. We had better pitching this series so hopefully the staff is maturing along with the team. The third game was disappointing since execution would have won that one and gotten the sweep. So we are not quite there yet but ACU can clearly claim to be back in baseball. Hats off to the team and coaches. Now the challenge is finishing off the season and when we accomplish that in good fashion, this will indeed be a signal year.

UNO losing 2 games this weekend helps. TAMCC actually moves into 2nd percentage wise. Looking at the top 3, in just SLC play: ACU is .647, TAMCC is .588, and UNO is .575.

If my math is correct and presuming NO’s conference season’s complete, ACU’s the only team that can win 25 conference games. So, if the Cats win next weekend’s series, they’re the regular season champs and the tournament’s #1 seed.

I think you are correct. They have zero more conference games. What's an insult right now is that UNO is still in 1st place by 1 point even though they have 5 more conference losses than us.

UNO has 69 points. ACU has 68 points. TAMCC has 62 points SELA and NWST have 61 points.
So, as an adjunct member of the ACU Math Dept I have done an advanced statistical analysis:
We have 4 games at home with SFA. If we win 1 game, UNO can’t catch us. If we win 2 games or all the other 3 teams lose at least one game, we are the regular season champs. TAMCC & NWST play 4 games against each other (so one is eliminated) and SELA plays 4 at home with HBU who is in last place.
Since SELA could sweep. Let’s win the first 2 against the Jacks and wrap this thing up. I believe I’ll be right across the street at the ball park this weekend.

My graduate school mathematics covered a lot of stuff but your erudite analysis is more exciting and would have gotten an A+. Let's win 2 and get ready for season's end.

I actually think I talked someone into giving me math credit for taking a bowling class at ACU some 41 or so years ago.

I was informed today that Riley Bender of Kingwood High School has committed to A.C.U. I was informed he was very good. 6’4””, 185 lbs. fielder. One of you guys who follow high school baseball maybe can look him up.

That's the bad thing about baseball. MLB teams will flash some pretty good money in the face of good high school players. Hard to turn down that immediate payout.

Maybe wishful thinking, but Kingwood is a bedroom suburb of Houston, home of oil and gas professionals and United pilots. Academic expectations are pretty high overall.

ACU hammers, or axes, the Jacks tonight on 10 run rule. 13-3. We have some hosses! Way to go Wildcats! Who was the announcer? Thought he did great. At least we had one, right? Let's get our brooms out!
