What's up with Sam Houston not even having at least radio for its baseball games with ACU. Pretty weak. Checking the SHSU bulletin board, there has not been a single post in the last couple of days. Baseball must not be much of a sport in Huntsville. Checking SFA, there has not been a post in 8 months in the baseball section. ?

Baseball has always been a highly ranked at Sam Houston. Can't remember if they won a regional several years ago but sere in the mix for a college world series berth. This year has been an anomaly. But we still have 3 games to go with them and they have 2 really good pitchers throwing today.

1) SHSU is a team to be respected in pretty much all their sports and baseball is no exception. 2) ACU is really playing strong right now and coming into their own. I don't think last night was a fluke. I hope we keep the streak going, but even if we split with Sam, we would be doing well. I think we can do more though. 3) Yes, SHSU not having either video or radio feed for these games is ridiculous. I get their football team is playing a championship game tomorrow but that's no excuse.... 4) Right now we are up 4-0 in the top of the 2nd, let's keep it up!!

Sam isn't going away yet. After a dominant 1st, they had a dominant 2nd. Now, we don't do anything in the top of the 3rd: 5-4 Cats, in the bottom of the 3rd.

ACU is back at it in the 7th and we are now up 11-5 with 2 outs and a runner on 1st & 3rd.
Edit-12-5 now in the bottom of the 7th.

These kids just have no quit in them. How about the year Mitchell Dickson is putting together?

Here is my favorite stat with the covid extra year: Randle--fr Ladusau--fr Hammitt--fr Cromer--fr Caley--fr Dickson--soph Tatrow--soph Hill--soph
Pitchers Morgan--fr Huffling--fr Glaze--fr Carlton--soph Riley--jr
Then throw in: Cruz--jr Eager--jr Geiser--jr
And you have the makings for a pretty dominant several years to come. Our pitching needs improvement but boy oh boy the future looks bright.

I’ve been keeping up with the two commits from Bullard High School, Bruce Jewell and Connor Carlson. Both are having good seasons. Carlson should help us on the mound next year. He’s been steady as the #2 pitcher behind a stud who is committed to Arkansas.

So far, game 2 of the double header is much lower scoring. I am sure everyone has to be tired at this point. We are tied 2-2 in the top of the 7th.
Edit-Tatrow just hit a home run; now 4-2 with two outs.

Again, Sam isn't going away. They just score on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 8th with 2 outs. Now 4-4....

Sam doesn't give up either. They win game 3 after we loaded the bases in the bottom of the 10th. Let's hope the guys get some rest and take them out tomorrow. I honestly thought we were about to tie our record straight wins, but it wasn't meant to be.

Despite the loss in the 2nd game, we are still in pretty good shape to win the conference and get the 1-seed. New Orleans lost tonight and they have only one conference game left. They have 23 wins for 69 points. Their max point total is 72. ACU has 21 wins and 2 cancellations for a total of 65 points with 5 games left. If NO wins tomorrow we can win 3 of 5 for 74 points.
