If he is commuting to us, no wonder he is not coming. Sorry, had to. I don't think it is necessarily the SIU offer that caused him to back out. Jeremy Crabtree who is a highly regarded analyst said he thinks big things are coming for him. I think many schools are starting to look at him and more offers will start rolling his way soon He had mentioned in his tweet that he had spoken with his coaches, so this makes more sense. I wish we were more attractive.

Could it be that we have a good young QB and he is looking to play right off the bat?

TE Nathan Jones committed! This is a huge commitment, not just because he is now a 4th generation Wildcat, but because we beat out Vanderbilt (offered), TCU, University of Texas (he visited there) and others for him! Maybe it’s just me but, judging by the Twitter-based reaction, (A) Brock fans seem to be a lot more impressed with Nathan receiving an offer from Minnesota than they were with his earlier ACU commitment and (B) impressed with the fact that he’s politely acknowledged every one.

Nathan Jones announced earlier this evening via Twitter his commitment to the BIG’s Minnesota Gophers. While not surprised as he’s at least that good, it hurts as he epitomizes what ACU refers to as a legacy. More importantly, his kind of talent would be transformational to a program like ours. That said, he gave us a very serious look. Here’s wishing him the best. Go Wildcats!!

His Dad went to the evil empire in Austin before he transferred to ACU. But he transferred and became a National Champion and All-American.
I completely understand a young player wanting to test his limits. Good luck to him.

Coach Jones just got a heart stent in the last few days. I hear things are all going well.

As I recall, wins were hard to come by in the early 90’s.

I did appreciate him at least praising ACU Football. He could have very easily just talked about how excited he was to play for Minnesota.

Minneapolis is not a very fun place to be, especially in the winter. I wish Nathan and his family the best, but I sure don't want to be in the Twin Cities.
