His Dad went to the evil empire in Austin before he transferred to ACU. But he transferred and became a National Champion and All-American. I completely understand a young player wanting to test his limits. Good luck to him. Curious, what National Championship are you referring to? As I recall, wins were hard to come by in the early 90’s. OK, it was hyperbole. I just threw that out there. Busted.

I am slightly bummed about Nathan, but not in the least surprised. He is quite an athlete. I am glad to see that the coaches are not overlooking good prospects with long ACU ties.

The Sorsby young man is a solid QB. Love his pocket awareness, strong arm and can throw deep on the run, nice scrambling ability and runs away from most DRB's. This is the kind of kid we need to get.

To get these kinds of skilled QBs we need a passing oriented offense.

I disagree RC. Stone Earle is a very skilled QB and he came here, as did Hayden Anderson. Do we need a different offense, YES! However, let's stop with the idea that we can't get quality QB's

ACU can get really high quality players and students because it is a quality university with a laudable mission. But to get and retain the whole package of offensive talent, we need an explosive offense, something alluring. We are not Wisconsin and will have trouble attracting the larger wealth of talent across the OL and the super running backs because the big time schools can offer a lot more. So I think we need a more explosive offense. I agree that Stone Earle is a very skilled quarterback. If he had the schemes, OL, and wide receivers close or on par with his talent, we might be FCS national champions. But we don't even follow the well known stratagems of passing routes best fitted to the deep and shallow safeties. We don't run an offense designed to take advantage of these reads. I base this on watching but more importantly listening to a few really fine football minds who follow our Wildcats and tell me what a puzzle it is to them. Jim Lindsey, John Mayes, and a fine history of really great quarterbacks sort of proves my point that a better offensive scheme can lead to success, and attract talent. There won't be another Ted Sitton, but I wish we had the flare of his offensive schemes. This is all just my opinion and maybe I am all wet, but the ideas come from much deeper knowledge of the game than mine.

I guess maybe I'm not understanding your statement. I totally agree we need a new offensive scheme. But you said to get these kind of QBs....My argument is WE do have skilled QBs. Do I think a different offensive scheme would be better? Without question. But I think we have a good deal of talent at the position. I think even if we don't change the scheme, I think we could get a QB the quality of Sorsby.
Many of these players are NOT coming to ACU because of it's mission. Many are coming because they were offered a D1 scholarship and felt ACU was the best place for them to play football.

DE Dylan Frazier from McKinney North HS receives an offer. He is a 3-star athlete with offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas St, Minnesota, Okla. St, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech and others. Frazier is listed at 6'5, 250 Dylan just tweeted that Vanderbilt had made an offer. Seem to recall Nathan Jones received interest from them as well. The jaded me says expect a commitment to Minnesota soon😤.

I'll be interested to see if Frazier ends up at SMU. Both TCU and Tech have interest in SMU HC Sonny Dykes. At the moment, Dykes does not appear to be either schools top choice, but he is in the mix. He was also offered a contract extension at SMU that would make him one of the highest paid Group of 5 coaches. However, he has yet to sign it

Likewise, he’ll get more from SMU in return for bowing out as a candidate for either. Sonny’s in the catbird seat. Meanwhile, I see Dylan going wherever Sonny goes.

Joey McGuire will be named Texas Tech head coach later today. He has served as an assistant coach at Baylor, after first being a very successful coach at Cedar Hill HS
