A few keys to the game-
UCA is a big team, as they typically start 6'4, 6'6, 6'7, 6'8 and 6'9. The first time we played them, we beat them by 35, but they out rebounded us by 2.
Keys- 1. Rebound. We don't have to win the rebounding numbers, but we can't give them 2nd and 3rd opportunities 2. Create turnovers. UCA averages 18 turnovers a game; ACU 13.6. The first time we played them, we forced UCA into 25 turnovers, while only committing 12 of our own. 3. Wear them down in the 2nd half. UCA has been outscored by 161 points in the 2nd half in their 20 games. We seem to make very good adjustments at halftime, so even it is close, we have to be able to pull ahead down the stretch. 4. Forget the Sam Houston St game. That game is behind us. If you want to win a conference title, you have to beat those you are supposed to.

Agree, we are banged up right now, but even last game we were able to have lots of players get minutes against UCA. We will have to do that again this time around. We have to focus on one game at a time, beat them and move on. I hope for quick healing with Clay, and everyone else.

Agreed! UCA, coming between the Sam and SFA games, is a classic “trap” game. With the injuries the team’s dealing with, all the more reason to focus on one game at a time. Go Wildcats!! Beat UCA!!!

Bears have come out on a mission in the second half, although it helps when the refs are showing such discretion. Gotta play all 40 minutes.

Is this going to come down to the free throw line? Ugh. We gotta make em!

I missed the first part of the game, but we aren't even setting up shots properly right now and we can't hit the shot even if open from the outside. Are we that tired? What happened to our defense?

I feel kind of responsible. Went to Home Depot when we were up by 17. Dang.

Seems like an impossible loss but anything can happen in basketball, just like the rest of sports. I hope the lesson is learned -- every minute counts regardless of the score. When you play a few oh hum minutes and lose momentum, you can lose and we did -- a real heartbreaker.

I any close games like this a few calls either direction can really effect the game. Regardless, missed free-throws, lack of movement on the offensive side of the ball, and foul trouble was a bad mix for us tonight.

I any close games like this a few calls either direction can really effect the game. Regardless, missed free-throws, lack of movement on the offensive side of the ball, and foul trouble was a bad mix for us tonight. There was a critical call I thought the ref blew, the charging foul with the knee to the chest. The ref nailed our guy for a blocking foul that even the commentators were a bit stunned by. Our guy was outside the inner circle. That was a huge part of the game outcome, but we created the vulnerability ourselves so we lost the game.
