Is ACU hosting a Selection Show party or did Covid raise it's hind leg on that, too? The team is already on their way to Indiana.

I guess we shall see... Realistically, I think we could justify a 13 seed, but things will improve if we keep raising our image. I really like this team. I want that intensity to become our trademark for many tournaments to come.

13 would be great. 14 is my realistic expectation. 15 would disappoint and 16 would be a travesty, Jerry Palm over at CBS Bracketology is predicting the Cats as one of the 14 seeds in his mock bracket (and facing a #3 seed Kansas). This seems possible based on his notes about our RPI (#74) and NET ranking #78) though I'm not sure where he gets these calculations. He has the four #14 seeds, ranked in order, as - E. Washington (16-7 Big Sky)
- ACU (23-4 Southland)
- Iona (16-6 MAAC)
- Cleveland State (19-7 Horizon)
And for the WAC, he has Grand Canyon (17-6) as a 15 seed facing #2 seed Iowa.
His #13 seeds are as follows. I think you could group ACU with this teams.
- UNCG (21-8 Big South)
- North Texas (17-9 C USA)
- Morehead State (23-7 OVC)
- Colgate (13-1 Patriot)
Interesting to note, Grant McCasland is the head coach at North Texas. He was the coach at ACU before Golding, but was here for four months and never played a single game for the purple and white. He ended up taking a job at Baylor instead.

Haslametrics has ACU as the top ranked 13 seed, ahead of North Texas , Ohio, and Colgate. He has Eastern Washington and Moorehead as 14s.

Seems ACU should still promote this accomplishment and create excitement about it. Even set up a Zoom connection with the team wherever they're gathering so everyone can share in the moment together.

Agreed. And I’m sure the NCAA will be doing something for the programs already in Indiana for the selection Sunday event. How much ACU can do independently I have no idea.

A bit troubling, and not anticipated... during singing of hymns this morning, flashes of the game popped into my head -- stealing the ball and putting in their all. Yes, a celebratory recognition is well deserved. I guess the campus will have something at some point -- a real accomplishment.

Is there a bracket prediction thread? Someone should start one.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN now has us as a 13 seed. He lists us as the third ranked 13 seed, which would match us against Purdue.

I’ve seen us as a 14 playing Houston, Oklahoma St, and Kansas. Saw one with us playing WV.

Seems like one of the following:
OK St Arkansas (not sure if committee tries to avoid regular season rematches or not) Kansas West Virginia Purdue Houston Texas
Hoping to play someone outside our “region”

On the OU Insider there is a list of 22 bracket projections. Of course I had to check them all out.
13th Seed —— 2 14th Seed —— 17 15th Seed —— 1 Thinks Nichollls got in — 2
Most common projected opponents. Kansas and Arkansas. Most interesting opponent. Creighton. Nightmare matchup. Iowa.
