Sounds less like unlimited resources and more like relationships and networking. We will have similar contacts I am sure.

I'm sure Joe has been, or will be, picking Beard's brain.

The press we are getting seems very good. The more I think about it, the more I believe UT was a good match for us. The attitudes of the players and coaches seem to be very focused and beyond our last trip to the dance. I am still evaluating but hard to say that we haven't already seen the strides made from two years ago. The progress is there.

In an article on ESPN+ titled, "March Madness 2021: What to know about every team in the NCAA tournament bracket" it says this about the Wildcats after ranking us as the top No. 14 seed:
Just seven years into its return to the Division I ranks, the Wildcats beat Nicholls State 79-45 to win a Southland Conference title and reach the NCAA tournament Saturday. Doesn't matter who they play, Joe Golding's crew won't back down. The Wildcats made 61% of their shots inside the arc in a 13-point loss to Arkansas and forced 16 turnovers in a seven-point loss to Texas Tech earlier this season. They've led the nation with a Press Virginia-like turnover rate: ACU opponents have committed turnovers 27 times for every 100 trips up the floor. The Wildcats have 7-footer Kolton Kohl (12.3 PPG) in the paint and made 38% of their 3-pointers in league play. First-round upset potential? Yes.

We haven’t been on UT’s schedule for a reason. Go Wildcats!! BEAT TEXAS!!!

The Wildcats have 7-footer Kolton Kohl (12.3 PPG) in the paint and made 38% of their 3-pointers in league play. First-round upset potential? Yes. And here’s is what they had to say about Texas . Shaka Smart entered the season facing pressure as his search for an NCAA tournament victory during his tenure continues. But when it became clear that Texas would have no trouble earning a spot in the field, the chatter ended. That's fitting for a program that swept Kansas in the regular season and gained momentum with a 8-2 rally over its last 10 and a Big 12 tournament championship. The backcourt is stacked with gamers: Courtney Ramey, Andrew Jones and Matt Coleman III. Greg Brown and Kai Jones are a pair of big men who are both projected first-round picks in ESPN's latest mock draft, too. This group has the balance that North Carolina used to win the 2017 national title. Both teams made just over 35% of their 3-point attempts and more than 51% of their shots inside the arc.

Also, like the fact that the writer notes that Joe got the job only after Grant McCasland bolted for a Baylor assistant coach position. Comparing the two resumes since 2011: GMc 2011-16 Baylor assistant 2016-2017 Arkansas State HC 2017-present UNT HC NCAA appearances 1 (13 seed, 2021) Joe (see Sam Blum’s article) NCAA appearances 2 (15 seed, 2019; 14 seed, 2021) Takeaway: While we could play “what if” “til the cows come home”, I think ACU turned out all right, especially, if you’ll permit me to speculate, GMc’s decision to go to Baylor was influenced by fact we weren’t a fully-funded D-1 program from the get-go. Meanwhile, Joe not only was undaunted by the funding issues, he’s taken us from a school playing basketball in an “Auditorium-Coliseum” to one spending $48 large to convert it to a basketball arena. Thank goodness things broke our way! Go Wildcats!! BEAT TEXAS!!! #TTP

I'm loving this matchup more and more. Numerous people have contacted my wife and me to share their excitement and support for ACU against the Evil Empire. ACU is getting mentioned A LOT and it's very different than in 2019 and getting mentioned as Kentucky's opponent.
And, fun fact, the Horns and Cats have something in common - neither has won an NCAA tournament game since 2014.
