Thanks Mavsman53. I needed this. I got tired of hearing Carlisle say our starting OL were all redshirt freshmen. Also, the roster lists Scalera as a DB. I'm supposing that's either an error or the staff changed his position during the year. I know he signed on as a WR.

This one hurts- Stapp has entered the transfer portal Sucks but not unexpected unfortunately. I could see him ending up at SHSU seeing as he is from College Station.

This one hurts- Stapp has entered the transfer portal I hate that. Satterfield was not a surprise -- he only played in a handful of games, but Stapp is a shocker. I imagine the defense would have been built largely around him regardless of who is the coach. Looking at the participation report, did John Brannon actually get to play? I thought he was out for the year with an injury. It could have been Easton Myrick finally getting some game time -- he also wears #43.

I was up top on Saturday, and a #43 made a special teams tackle. No one knew for sure which player it was. I so wish there was one number per player

Stapp made it pretty clear if Dorrel and staff was let go he was gone. JB got in on kickoff, has been battling foot injury all year.

Frankly, we need fresh blood. If this program is going to move forward it needs a fresh start. I don’t think we will have any first team all conference players. Maybe Stapp or a special teams guy. So we need to keep the guys that want to be here and if they don’t, so be it. The rebuild will be ugly but the past few years haven’t exactly been pretty. Hopefully they guys that have the most talent and the best work ethic stick around, and those that don’t will go somewhere else and just be a number or will drop down a level.

I haven't been on this forum in years, but this sounds EXACTLY like what we were saying 5 years ago when Collums was fired. I hope it actually works this time.

Exactly right. So why get bothered by those choosing to leave or by the change…accept it and know that it’s going to happen, especially with the transfer portal now being what it is. Dorrel may be a great guy and maybe did great things for guys in the classroom, but going years without a big upset win, years without beating one of the bigger programs in our conference, and never having a winning season adds up if you also aren’t doing stuff off the field that pleases the higher ups. No exciting product to promote for two years was what really hurt the most I imagine (no star power, no offensive creativity, no upset win).
