I'm still on the fence but haven't seen them play live-only on streaming. I'll admit I really liked what Earle did vs Virginia but Mansell did some good things too. What do you base your decision on?

He made some excellent throws tonight and he is faster than Mansell. It also helps he could have 4 mor years.

Saw the scrimmage and have some mixed thoughts. We have some good pass defense and some shifty runners. Both lines seem faster. Earle is quite an athlete and a lot faster than I remembered. Both Earle and Mansell throw with velocity, but we still don't have many mid and longer routes very often. Dumping for four yards always seem to be an un-optimum strategy. Zepeda has got a leg, a big one even into the wind. We finally have a spiral punter but I don't know how consistent he will be. He got off a surprising into the wind kick.
The scrimmage opened slowly with strong defense or weak offense, but later on there was a bit more opening up. I think we will be better this year, the question is how much better will our competitors be. I guess one could say I was encouraged, but not surprised with more opening up of the offense. Finally our Texas State transfers are pretty impressive. Smith is really smooth and shifty and Brannon is a lot faster than typical middle backers. His dad told me he ran a 4.5 and weighed about 240 pounds. He was listed at 233.
Finally there were some bone headed plays like fair catching a punt in the open at the four yard line and losing track of the downs on one series and not getting a clean handoff on a fourth and short.

Stone was the better QB tonight, definitely.

Also, it was nice to see Reece Stafford make scholarship tonight.

I think the highlight of the scrimmage was Stafford getting rewarded with his scholarship.
Also, who was #29 on the white team?

The program only listed a number 29 on the black team, Luke Dillingham, a DB from Brock HS. Don't know for sure about a white number 29.

#29 on white was Jailen Dixon, Freshman from Electra HS.

#29 on white was Jailen Dixon, Freshman from Electra HS. Thanks. He looked real impressive. The RB group is even deeper.
