Just got home and checked on the game. Are we playing as badly as the score shows??

It's good to see the fight. I wish we could play faster tempo....

Shot ourselves in the foot again, but that's us.

Just got home and checked on the game. Are we playing as badly as the score shows?? The defense doesn't have a lot of answers for the QB run and passes. We seem to cover some of his options but not enough. Offensively, we've had 3 and outs and have shown glimmers of promise. But lots of mistakes.

Looks like Lutz is out in a sling, Knox and Stafford both out with injury. Still battling!

The better team won, but a few plays could have made a difference.

We played better in the 2nd half. We held them under 500 yards of offense and we had over 300 yards of offense. About what we average against D1 schools note named Lamar. Next week, ACU gets to play Lamar again -- undoubtedly our best chance to get a 4th win in the season.

I'm not sure EKU was the better team. They played well enough to win this game vs us. Even with everything against us--the uniform snafu that cost us 15 yd penalties and TO's we still had the ball deep in their end of the field 3 times w/o scoring. We literally gave this game away. Kudos to EKU for capitalizing on our many errors. Maybe in the end this game helps us down the road.

I only watched the 4th quarter but EKU looked like a varsity team playing against a JV team with their size advantage. Plus our plays develop too slow against teams with speed.

We played better in the 2nd half, but still couldn't finish drives or find ways when it mattered. Like usual, in key moments, we came up short. Maybe it really is just an issue of the talent gap between us and other teams. Maybe it's because we are that young. Maybe we don't have coaches that can figure out what to do. I am sure it is a whole host of things. Either way, I am not seeing anything that pushes me beyond my original 4-7 prediction. A couple of early wins against lower level teams got some hopes up, but that was a flash in time. Hopefully we can turn a couple of games in our favor.

I see 5-6 record with wins over Lamar and Tarleton St. Jacksonville St played well to beat SJA so it will be difficult to get to 6-5.

Kudos to EKU for capitalizing on our many errors. Maybe in the end this game helps us down the road. We did have a lot of mistakes and our headstrong determination to run wide into one of the Colonel's team strengths was puzzling to watch. But we did see EKU bog down and they were even tired late in the game. We didn't/couldn't make enough big plays, but I was encouraged by our fight and toughness. The EKU QB (McKinney) made great decisions all night long. Whether it was running with the ball when things were tight, making good throws, or finding the open man, he was a difference maker. Stone Earle had some flashes, but he doesn't have a lot of experience. He'll get better from games like tonight.
