I know this is a little early but the excitement for our baseball program ought to be building. We had a powerhouse offensive team last year and return a starter in every offensive position this year (2022). Pitching will be our challenge and we brought in several JC pitchers (none bell ringers) to try to fill gaps. I'd expect Cervantes, Glaze, Morgan and Huffling to be starters and maybe Stephenson. Tanner Riley will need help from the bullpen but he's a pretty good start. A line up of:
Dickson-C (all-conference) .383 BA Geiser-1st .265 (2nd team all-conference, went on a tear in the conference tourney), 7 HR Hammett-2nd- (3rd team all-conference).269 BA, 9 HR Randle-SS (all conference) .305 Hill or Cazarin-3rd--Hill .258 BA Cazarin .236 Ladusau-LF .322 BA, 8 HR (how Ladusau wasn't voted all-conference beats me) Tatrow-CF (2nd team all-conference) .325 BA, 10 HR Eager-RF (all conference) .342 BA, 13 HR Cruz-DH (3rd team all-conference) .335 BA
This lineup will be a "murderers row" and with an improved defense and some consistent pitching, this team can be scary good. Fall scrimmages begin next week.

One of the things that has hurt ACU baseball in the past is attrition by players with remaining eligibility. Hopefully that’s in the past now that the Cats are more successful.

The baseball team was supposed to play a fall game on 10-22-21 against Weatherford. Does anyone know how the game went?

There are a couple of tweets about it but no scores. We must have lost. Lol

I don’t think BSB or WSB post scores for fall exhibition.

Watched a few innings of the game last night. 7-4 when I went on to other things. Geiser HR and several other well hit balls. Couldn't identify new players because no announcer but pitching needs to improve. Hitting by the usual suspects (Cruz, Randle, Ladusau, Dickson) looks good.

I know the fall world series intersquad games were completed Friday. The squads were coached by Assistant Coaches Luke Marbach and Trevin Sonnier.
The first game from last Monday is on the website. The purple team won 7-6 but I am not sure if the purple team was Team Marbach or Team Sonnier.
I have not heard anything about the other games or an comments from the coaches. Does anyone have any other information.

Several new baseball recruits announced today. The future of ACU baseball looks bright. Hopeful that we get some "flame throwers" to add to our pitching staff.

College baseball is probably my favorite sport. I can't wait to see the Wildcats in February.

The baseball schedule looks really good. We have some tough competition coming up. A great thing is we have several big schools coming to play here at ACU. I love being able to schedule home and aways with big names. I know we have had some big schools come here, but have we ever had this many in one season before? I also love the other OOC schools we have scheduled. Even Fargo gets to come thaw out with us.
