SFA comes back with a touchdown to tie it 7-7, but just as fast UIW scores again to go up 14-7.

SFA comes back to tie the game at 14-14 near the half. Looks like it will be a high scoring game.

Frustrating to watch how good UIW is. There is no reason their football program should be so far ahead of us.

Athletes and quick hitting plays.

Just watch them run a wr screen. Qb barely grips the ball before releasing and receiver gets up field immediately. Simple play like that I feel we typically risk an interception by a defensive end or linebacker and receiver is getting hit behind los.

Frustrating to watch how good UIW is. There is no reason their football program should be so far ahead of us. At least 2 of their strength coaches only work with football. We have the best facilities in the conference, but we’re losing the arms race in reference to this particular resource. Attachments:

OK, San Antonio is nice, but Beaumont, Huntsville, Nacadoches, Stephenville, the Valley? I don’t buy the Abilene reason as our hindrance. Our facilities and campus are very nice but I agree we need to stop trying to play at this level with minimal investment in personnel.

Congrats to UIW. I thought that SFA would be better balanced in their defense, but give that credit to the Cards.

Our facilities and campus are very nice but I agree we need to stop trying to play at this level with minimal investment in personnel. . The further west you are, the greater the hindrance as the farther recruits, family & friends, have to travel. When CT was on Tuberville’s Tech staff, he explained that as the logic behind having multiple off-campus recruiting camps in D-FW and Houston. If you’ve got to work that hard to get kids to go to Lubbock to play P5 football, I can only imagine how hard it is to get a kid to Abilene.

DFW is 2-3 hours away. I can understand not getting a lot from Houston but we should be able to recruit the DFW area without that big of a problem. SMU, TCU, UNT etc. are going to pick up a lot in the area but there is a ton of high school football being played there.

And if location plays such a major role in recruiting, HBU should be a power. Instead they are one of the weakest teams in the Southland.
