Not sure I would give up ACU for UNT. Just because he is in the portal, it is not a sure thing that he is gone.

I'm pretty sure he is gone and I think UNT is the destination

I'm pretty sure he is gone and I think UNT is the destination I agree on this -- I am somewhat surprised that an FBS school is taking a flyer on Stone, but I think he will jump at an FBS offer.

I know the present quarterback, Austin Aune is listed as a Sophmore evn though he has been with the team three years. He might have a couple more years of eligibility left. Is Stone confident if he moves to UNT that he will be the starter. I still think there is a good chahce he would be the starter here.

I’m curious if the motivation to move is not so much certainty of playing but, rather, the opportunity to play at a higher level and at a more recognizable program. Meanwhile, remembering the change from “Abilene Christian College” to “Abilene Christian University” was partly motivated by the desire to distinguish ourselves from two-year “colleges” (e.g. Austin Community College, Blinn, Cisco, Grayson County, Ranger, etc.), transfers to FBS schools is giving me that same “JUCO feel”.

Zach Calzada from A&M has entered the transfer portal. It is a new season in college football and we might as well get used to players moving around every year. While I'm all about allegiance to a school, I can't blame a guy if he feels like he has a better opportunity somewhere else. People do it for jobs all of the time. Football is no different now. That doesn't mean I like it but it is the new reality.

This huge number of players in the portal could well drop in the future if the rules are changed.

Maybe Stone will transfer to A&M. Could probably be the starter there.

Possible reasons to go to Denton: 1. FBS - higher level, bowl games 2. 30-45 mins from home 3. Uncertainty around ACU coaching staff 4. Seth Littrell 5. Mason Fine
