Apparently Thursby visited UIW and will choose between the Wildcats and the Cards. UIW just picked up a former 4 star DB from Auburn a couple of days ago so it looks like they are restocking that position group.

So, he may not be "so locked in"?

So, he may not be "so locked in"? Not surprising since committed doesn’t mean committed in recruiting circles. It means locked in or committed till I’m not. 😂

And being in a major city can’t hurt. On another board some one posted that while we invested heavily in facilities UIW went all out for football spending, with better funding for things like recruiting. We seem to be doing a better job now but I recall coaches begging for money for recruiting when we were just getting started in D1. So, $ + location + winning yields results.

Don’t discount coaching. They have had good coaching and an offensive scheme that recruits like.
We, on the other hand, ……. at least until now.

Thursby was never committed, so please do not think he was.

Thursby was never committed, so please do not think he was. One doesn't have to be. The point is why in the world would ANYONE post such a tweet to begin with? If you are committed, be committed. If you aren't, then don't say anything, but maybe a thank you for a visit.

If you aren't, then don't say anything, but maybe a thank you for a visit. Just cause it would be convenient for you as a fan if he hadn’t tweeted that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t tweet that. Locked in can mean so many different things anyway. Let the boy live his life and quit being crotchety about something that literally doesn’t matter at all.

He stated over a week ago that he had set up 2 visits. I let this board know that we were one of them. His former SMU teammate Kelley announced that he was committed, but Thursby never said such a thing. Instead, he said he was locked in. So what does locked in mean? This is a term used to express having something perfected or easily obtainable. He was simply saying his goal was now right in front of him. He took a visit to UIW, a program that will for sure be ranked when the season starts. He also commented about his visit there too, but NO COMMITMENT.
Sometimes this board. Some get upset when a player doesn't announce or say anything and then others get upset when a player says something other than they committed. So confusing

Locked in-
1. To be physically locked or trapped inside (of some particular place or thing). The doorknob came right off in my hand, so I'm stuck outside while the kids are locked in the house! Don't worry, the dogs are locked in—there's no chance of them getting out on their own. 2. To be committed (to someone or something), as via a contract. Good luck trying to renegotiate the terms of the deal now that you're locked in. I know she'd love to switch jobs, but she's locked in a five-year contract with her current employer. 3. informal To be extremely or exclusively focused on something
I and apparently outsider read his comment to mean # 2. Apparently he meant #3. All’s good. He wasn’t committed . He was extremely focused on his goal.
All is good. Heveill either commit or he won’t. I hope he does.

Yeah, locked in can mean many things if it is just words by themselves. Saying you are locked in while showing a particular school's program tends to narrow that down more. Communication is about more than words, especially social media communication. Did he tweet locked in with UIW program uniform? I love that people still get offended at a question, and yes, he shouldn't be tweeting that if he is still openly making a decision. But he is just a kid and I am an old man. Let him choose and play for whomever he wants doesn't really matter. We all know that people use social media to play games though. I knew he wasn't committed yet, again, that wasn't the issue. Actually, I looked at the tweet as more #3 if you want to know the truth.
