Only 1 week of practice -- this entire week is spring break. I can vouch that the campus is pretty quiet -- I am in town for the Wes Kittley Inv track meet.

Appears that former ACU DL Dante "Gator" Hibbert has joined the ACU coaching staff. I knew Dante personally when he was a student at ACU. I hired him as an official for intramural sports. No one ever wanted to argue with BIG Dante. But deep down, he is an incredible young man that has a huge heart for people. My then 8 year old son loved being around Gator. He would talk to my son in the most kind way and that made him feel like a million bucks. After college, Dante spent a year at Childress coaching and teaching. Fantastic hire!

I second that sentiment. Gator was a great player and a great guy. I absolutely love that he is working with us!!

WOW! I love seeing this. Dante was a leader in his years at ACU. I see on his Twitter feed that he will also have a "community outreach" role and he will also do a wonderful job at that as well. Great news all the way around!

I had Gator as a student. Terrific guy and loves ACU. Great opportunity for him. If he has any eligibility, we could use a DT.

Sam Herder ranks all 21 new FCS hires. Coach KP comes in at 13. I can’t get too worked up about the low ranking. All the Gurus thought AD was one of the best hires in FCS, so what do they know?

I love what our players, transfers and holdovers alike, have said about KP and other coaches since this staff came together. Remains to be seen how this works out but I have a sneaky suspicion that when the season is over there will be lots of national and conference media reassessing their earlier predictions.
