If you didn’t see, last night at halftime Coach Patterson said a few words of introduction to the fans.
That was nice but what really blew me away was when he said that he would be available for anyone that wanted to meet and talk. Then I noticed that for the rest of the game and after he stayed and visited with fans.
Nice refreshing breath of fresh air. I think I’m gonna like this guy.

This is great an very encouraging. This is how I remember Dorrel when he first started. He did a 180 toward the end of his time with us,distancing himself from fans. Hopefully KP won’t follow the same route even if we occasionally disagree with his decisions. If we couldn’t be Monday Morning Quarterbacks we’d be no quarterbacks at all

If we couldn’t be Monday Morning Quarterbacks we’d be in quarterbacks at all Wonder if AD just could not handle the losing. At NWMS, all they did was win ring after ring so I am sure he was the talk of the university. Who doesn't like being loved on in public? After a few losing seasons here, I am sure the conversations were very different and the questions much less fun to answer. I am guessing when the meetings stopped being fun, he decided to stop doing them.

I think we can all say that things with Dorrel didn't end the way we had hoped. The first year he was here I really thought we were headed in the right direction, but as time went on, it unfortunately didn't last.
Let's try and focus on the present with KP. We have some recruits on campus and hopefully some commitments by the end of the weekend. The buzz around the program is high, so let's keep it that way. I get things are still fresh with Dorrel leaving, but he's gone, KP is here and maybe, just maybe, things are looking up

I liked the experience of his assistant coaches and am ready to see what happens next.

Interesting tidbit from the interview with KP was in regards to their recruiting philosophy. KP said that the focus will be players within a 6hr radius of ACU. Additionally, the transfer portal will play a role in recruiting as it is simply part of the game now. I have been more than impressed with the hustle of the staff thus far as far as recruiting goes.

Thanks bucfan for adding this interview. Looks like we're recruiting Houston hard (as always) which may stretch that 6 hr radius; but maybe folks drive faster than I used to in my many treks from east Houston to Abilene. Impressed with coach P, impressed with the assistants he's bringing in and very impressed with the talent level of the recruits we are offering. I'm getting excited about signing day. When does spring football start? Has that been decided on?

I have made the drive from the South Houston suburbs to Abilene about 3 bagillion times and it is about 5:30. Just remember to never speed in Callahan country, like ever.....

Speed limit change to 75 and a loop around Gatesville on 36 have certainly shortened the time of my drive to Abilene from south of Houston.

By way of explanation: I lived on the northeast side of Houston before the Beltway was built. We negotiated and sold part of our church property to the Beltway 8 planners. It took a while to navigate thru the Houston maze.

Did anyone listen to the whole podcast? Earlier in the video (around the 20:26-mark), they talk about UTA, the WAC and football rumors.
Nice interview with Coach Patterson. Let's go 'Cats!

Once a week for years, driving Abilene down to Houston and back on Friday. From the Galleria area to Abilene was right at 5hrs 20 minutes normally. My secret route down was highway 36 then due south to Coleman, Santa Anna, etc. You learned several speed trap areas. Driving was only about a half hour longer than flying into DFW, waiting and then down to Houston. I was quite upset when air service directly to Hobby was stopped. Heard lots of books on CD's. Then the terrible ruling came that set up a circle around Houston limiting speed to 55 mph. The slow poke equivalent of the 65 mph limit going into DFW.
