7,592 attendance according to ESPN. We would consider that a mediocre crowd. I find it interesting a very successful winning program at a school (they have had a winning season this year also), with an enrollment 4 times ours only draws this many to its games. They even sold beer at the game (sorry, my sarcasm coming out). I know they have good loyal fans, and as was shown today, so do we. I too as a long time ACU guy was waiting for the shoe to drop, but we kept going. This may be the turnaround moment for this program. It was opening weekend for deer season, surprised there was that many people. That was last weekend

He forgot to say "with a backup QB."

The stands looked a little spotty so the attendance does not surprise me. The stadium was unimpressive and now I am partial to football stadiums without the track around the field. Any information about what McIvor's pain was from? I did not know he was still hurt. Elbow, shoulder, ribs??? I think I heard it was a lidocaine injection in the back, but I overheard the conversation from one of the player's parents.

Oh well, there were still deer involved SHSU has never had good attendance. I thought that getting into FBS had an attendance requirement attached to it. Something like a 3 year average attendance over a certain threshold?

Obviously, looking at the WAC/ASUN conference, the only school that comes close is Jacksonville State! We usually come in second or third in attendance. I am definitely including the Southland where we would lead.

Note to DallasAlum and reminder to others. We have a policy of not being specific about injury on the public board. Two reasons: 1) being sensitive to privacy issues for the player and 2) It ticks off the coaches and the SID. So reporting that the player is nursing a shoulder injury - that’s okay. His specific diagnosis is not okay. I’ve deleted the post. Thanks for understanding. No harm done.
PS. If you want to share the info with members you know or whomever for that matter, send a group message.

Sorry for breaching the injury information policy. As for the SID, I don't know who he/she is. However, if he/she is responsible for the articles and headlines on the stories on acusports.com, he/she could use some help. Many of the stories are full of errors (do they have an editor?) and many of the the headlines are terrible. Example: Headline: "Arion Simmons hits six three pointers" Story: Acu loses 71-16. Not just my personal opinion.

Per Craig Haley: According to NCAA statistics, the top 13 FCS attendances involve at least one HBCU. The largest without an HBCU involved is Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin drawing 26,862 at Houston's NRG Stadium on Oct. 1. Montana's six home games rank from 14th to 21st largest this season.

Nitpicking seems to be your specialty… I agree, it’s a bad habit and I’m trying to work on it. I’ve always had an instinct to correct people when they say or post incorrect information. My cross to bear.
