UTA currently up over UTRGV with roughly 8 minutes to go: 71-54. What in the world? I thought UTA was pretty weak this year -- they have been moaning about their record. But this year's WAC has unusual teams up and down the standings.

UTA wins, even after a hard UTRGV charge towards the end. ACU will have their hands full on Saturday.

This is shocking. How messed up of a program can get from winning a tournament game to having one of their top players getting kicked off the team for a gun incident to being the last team to winning a WAC game to being in last place to putting their entire coaching staff on leave? It appears that this decision is because of a repeated! hazing issue. This could end up being a devastating hit to the NMSU program. It’s likely the 12 teams are set for WACVegas.

According to sources, NMSU will shut their program down for the remainder of the season. The police report said one player has been hazed by three teammates since the summer of 2022. The details are disturbing and heart wrenching. It’s likely the entire team and staff knew it was happening. My hope is that the victim finds healing and support in all of this. The accused players and coaches probably will never be involved in college basketball again.

Another thing that will be very difficult is when the NMST players look to transfer, which I bet most will (3 already have entered the portal), all the questions that will be asked by potential new schools and coaching staffs. Even if the names of the players that committed the assault come out, questions will be asked of others, where were you, what was your role, did you try and stop it, etc. It is truly an awful situation, especially for the young man who was assaulted.

There are reports that others witnessed the assault and did nothing to stop it. So let's say that a player looks to transfer to ACU. I don't care if he can play or not. If he did nothing to stop the assault, I don't want him

If he did nothing to stop the assault, I don't want him I think that is the wall they will find for the most part, but sure there are schools that would still possibly take them. The one's directly involved will have criminal records.

Grand Canyon beat SHSU because the Sams missed four straight free throws at the end of the game. They must feel terrible right now.

Probably not as bad as Utah Valley feels. Up 3 with 10 seconds to play, foul on a 3 point shot that goes in. Down 1 now with 4.5 seconds, get all the way to the rim, only to miss a layup that would have won it
