Yesterday's games Incarnate Word beat Sacramento St 66-63 Montana St beat William & Mary 55-7 North Dakota St beat Samford 27-9 What’s crazy is that IUW was not hitting on all cylinders on offense. The timing on their passing game (between QB and receivers) was a little off all night. They will have to put everything together to challenge the Bisons, but it’s possible. The Cardinals offense and running game in particular created so many explosive plays; their defense forced 4 TOs in 100 snaps. No secret that NDST will try and steam roll them along both lines. There are a few standout Cardinal players (like Olivier Charles-Pierre 6’1 375) that are built to challenge that sort of attack.

South Dakota St comes back to beat Holy Cross 42-21 Was able to catch part of the game, but had to leave for the basketball game right after the missed FG. HC has a really good run game. I was rooting for them.

SAC St had 738 yds of total offense and 49 first downs. Are you kidding me? UIW only had 579 yards and 25 first downs. 1317 total yards and 74 first downs. Unbelievable.

I know ND St assumes that it is better than everybody. But I’ve watched parts of a couple of their games this year and I’m tipping toward UIW. Plus, playing in the Fargo Dome means that the Cards won’t have to contend with weather.

Plus, playing in the Fargo Dome means that the Cards won’t have to contend with weather. UIW is considerably better on offense than Samford that played the Bison's last week. And UIW has one of the more opportunistic defenses that you'll find.

Agree, JCat. UIW makes mistakes - penalties, etc - so they need to play as clean a game as possible.

Some on Cat Chat enjoy looking at highlights. Embedded on the link below are video highlights of all the scoring plays from the UIW vs. Sac State game. You can even know what is going to happen, and it's still hard to fathom. Some would say, "well, there must have been no defense in that one." Take a look, and you'll find a lot of close plays in which spectacular offense beats well-positioned defenders (and Sac State couldn't figure out how to stop giving up the big play short of kicking onside). www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2022-12-11/everything-you-need-know-about-2022-fcs-championship-semifinals
