If Harding's defense could only keep up with their offense

Mines finally gets a stop, but Harding still scores with the FG: 31-7 with a little over 4 minutes left in the 3rd.

Very impressive performance by Harding. I mentioned on another thread -- they gambled moving over to the triple-option a few years ago and it has paid off handsomely for the Bison. I have enjoyed watching the game.

As much as it pains me to say it, ACU shouldn’t put Harding on the schedule anytime soon.
There are a ton of Harding alums in the Dallas area. I would imagine that Searcy is a ghost town today and it will be a very quiet Saturday night there. (Of course, every Saturday night is quiet in Searcy.)

I’m kind of surprised that neither was able to put a school promoting commercial spot on the ESPN broadcast. I would think that would be part of the perks of getting to the national title game.

Maybe that's just a perk of being DI? Maybe it's just money and resources?

Not sure the best place to put this, but there is a Harding connection to this post, so I will put it here. I am still on Twitter (X) with former ACU OC Josh Lamberson, whose Central Missouri team was beaten by Harding in the 2nd round of the D2 playoffs and that got me curious about how some of our former coaches were faring at the D2 level.
-Adam Dorrel just finished his 2nd season at Central OK (UCO). UCO as 5-6 this past season, following a 6-5 season in Dorrel's first season. UCO was 4-7 prior to Dorrel's arrival, so he has engineered an incremental improvement in UCO's fortunes. Dorrel also has 2 members of his staff who were with him at ACU - James Curlee and Dimitri Donald.
-Josh Lamberson has really succeeded in a big way at Central MO. The Mules were 4-7 before he arrived and his first season in 2022 saw him match that same 4-7 record. But, then this season, the Mules go 11-2 and 9-1 in conference, beating Dorrel's UCO team 41-17. UCM won their first round playoff game handily over Henderson St, then lost to eventual D2 champ Harding in a slugfest by one point, 34-35. While Lambo had very limited success as the OC here at ACU, I always wondered if he was best suited to be a HC -- he has a great personality and is a good public speaker (even though Dorrel gave him few chances to speak). HC at the college level these days are often about being the public face of the school. There is one connection to ACU on his coaching staff -- his passing game coordinator is Justin Bane, who is married to Annie Allison Bane, former ACU pole vaulter and on the faculty at ACU with a PhD in Human Performance -- she also directed the HP lab at ACU. I am not sure if Annie is on the faculty at UCM.
-Tremaine Jackson is the former DC for Dorrel and he also has had a solid career after leaving ACU. Tremaine went to Texas State for a year after ACU, before heading to Colorado Mesa, where he went 2-1 in the COVID-shortened season and 7-2 in 2021. He then headed to Valdosta State where he too was 4-7 his first season, but followed up with a 12-2 record and got to the 3rd round of the D2 playoffs - beating Limestone and Delta St, before getting thumped by Lenoir-Rhyne. Tremaine was another guy who always had HC potential -- a good motivator and fun to watch in interviews.
Glad to see some of the ACU coaching alumni doing well at the D2 level.

Dorrel never allowed Josh Lamberson to actually be the OC. Getting out from under Dorrel was what Josh needed. Wish him all the best. A great guy.
