Diante Smith, a 6'7 G/F who played at Nichols St last year has transferred to UTA. Smith averaged 16.0 points and 3.0 assists per game.

2 more big pickups for Grand Canyon. First, Makaih Williams, transfer from UTA commits. He was the Freshman of the year in the conference this year averaging 10.8 points per game. Then this morning, former 4-star C, Dennis Evans commits. Evans was ranked as the #25 player in the class of 2023. Evans is 7-1 and averaged 1.6 points per game for Louisville.

The more you pay athletes, the better athletes you get. ACU is going to have to figure out something in the NIL world or we will be left behind.

From the WAC council meeting this week:
GCU NIL for men’s basketball ranges between $500,000 and$1,000,000 per player. Not surprisingly the other schools are concerned about the competitive gap. As I said earlier, I heard that SFA may pay as much as $15k but that’s the only other school if that is actually right.
Not what I expected for sure.

Braden Housley, guard from Southern Utah enters the portal. He averaged 10.8 points and 3.6 assists per game. Torched ACU in Moody earlier this season

Big addition returning to the WAC. Freddy Hicks returns to Tarleton St after a year at Arkansas St. Hicks averaged 11.8 points last year, but 16.2 points in 2022-2023
