Anybody know anything about what happened with this kid leaving ACU?
He started all year as a true freshman.
Left for McClennan JUCO and was all-conference on a squad loaded with D1 program transfers.
Recently signed with Memphis for next season.

Not sure how to interpret that. I also don't want to get into anyone's business that I don't have any reason knowing. I was just curious if he left because he wanted to leave Abilene, if he was removed from the team, or for 'personal reasons'.

That means that scholarships for other athletes/sports may not always be full scholarships. He did well his Freshman year, took a chance to play elsewhere to potentially get a bigger scholarship.

Mavsman, let us not forget another reason to possibly leave. Players at a 4-year university cannot be drafted until after they have be at the institution for 3 years. Someone who plays at a JC obviously can be drafted after they finish their JC career. I have known quite a few athletes who have do this. A great example with ACU ties is John Lackey - attended UTA as a freshman and primarily played 1st base and pitched a litte. Transferred to a JC and was a full-time starting pitcher. He signed with Texas Tech, but after getting drafted in the 2nd round he was headed to pro baseball.
