That is a great addition to the coaching staff!!!! I love seeing Parker continue as a mentor to Dallas! I read that Lambo is big on working with the QB's as well - kind of like KC did when he was the OC.

The staff is out on the recruiting trail today and tomorrow. It would not surprise me if we start hearing about players receiving offers. Monday-Thursday starts another dead period. Staff is currently in Dallas Couple of things -
1) Don't forget that Josh Bloom and Adrian Duncan will be playing football on Saturday - I'm planning to be parked in front of a TV somewhere to watch those boys do ACU proud! Catdad said he was going to try to make it up there - I hope his health is good and is able to successfully make that trip so that he can enjoy watching Big'un play in one more game!
2) Happy to announce that the ACU coaching staff has a new intern - a former QB by the name of Parker McKenzie. First day on the job was yesterday and we were with him in Abilene last night so that he could (finally) open his Christmas presents - and celebrate his new "job". He was in that marathon film session with everyone yesterday and his comments about the coaching staff are VERY upbeat and he's pretty excited to be a part of the action. While they are on the road, he'll be back in the film room getting more info sorted through & is working with staff on procedures, scheduling and all the other behind the scenes stuff. On the way home from dinner, said he had to be "at work at 8am" - said it sounded strange to say that - we said it sounded really good!
Guess we'll be putting in that seat deposit for the new stadium after all. Congrats to you and Parker!

Texts and emails and stuff like that are allowed. Unless he meant visit as in an actual face to face visit because then I don't know. Maybe the dead period is over.

Brooks Talkington is impressive. Some will say-"look at the competition level" but he packs a punch when he tackles, has great "length", good speed, etc. Boy, I wish he could play MLB for us.

The dead period stuff is pretty confusing, but I'll try to make sense of it.
Currently we are in a contact period which lasts through the 7th. Contact period allows only one visit per week with a prospect.
Jan. 8- quiet period. This means coaches cannot speak with recruits or their parents, but players can visit a school. Written or phone contact for coaches is also permitted.
9-12: dead period. This means no contact is allowed at all, even if the player visits the school. Written and phone contact is allowed.
13-28- contact period
29- quiet period
30-31- dead period
February 1- signing day

For the quiet period, if a player visits a school, a coach can speak to the recruit. However, it cannot happen off-campus.

One of our targets-
Belton tight end Remington Lutz decommitted from North Texas today.
Lutz was a first-team All-District 8-6A selection at tight end this season.
Lutz had 13 catches for 191 yards and two touchdowns on the year.
Lutz is already examining his other options in terms of a college destination and has a visit to Abilene Christian set up.

UNT recruited Lutz as a TE/WR. They recently told him they wanted him to play OT. He is currently 220.
